During his talk,?“Trustworthy Benchmarking for Black-Box Single-Objective Optimization,”?he shared pioneering research on understanding algorithm performance and advancing AI in optimization. ?? Leadership in action: meanwhile, our CEO,?Bo?anka, joined the?U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation TPM Digital Transformation Workshop?in Chicago. She shared insights on how our AI guide,?Teamo, helps organizations kickstart their AI journey. By first understanding the most impactful tasks that can be optimized with AI, Teamo helps leaders and employees find, learn and master the right tools for their organization. From chance encounters to transforming the future of work In December 2019, Tome and Bo?anka met by chance in New York after years of not seeing each other. What started as a casual catch-up turned into something much bigger. Tome was immersed in AI, while Bo?anka was focused on the evolving role of human skills in the workforce. That conversation sparked an idea: what if AI and human skills could combine? Fast forward to March 2021, before the whole AI revolution, TeamLift was born. Looking back now, it’s incredible to see how closely what we’ve now built aligns with that early vision, even after navigating challenges, pivots, unexpected turns and literally the whole world changing. Today, we’re two years into the AI boom, standing on the same New York street where the idea first came to life. AI has moved from experimental to transformational, changing businesses and jobs everywhere. It’s moments like these remind us that this is really true: you can only connect the dots looking backward. I’d love to share some learnings about the first two stages of AI upskilling. Stage 1: ?? You’re unsure what AI can do for you yet. ? AI feels too complex or irrelevant. ?? You stick to traditional methods and avoid AI training. Stage 2: ?? You’re aware where AI can help. ?? You understand how others get ahead with AI. ?? You’re exploring tools and training and might need just a bit of guidance to know which tool fits where. Why moving from Stage 1 to Stage 2 is a big deal: This shift means you’re no longer stuck on the sidelines—you’re actively starting to engage with AI’s potential for your work. ??
