This past Friday, we had the honor of welcoming an incredible group of Martin Scholar students and individuals from the College of Charleston, along with faculty members Tom Martin, Ryan Milner, and Bethany Goodier, to Integral HQ. In honor of Employee Appreciation Day (which should be every day), we’re excited to share wellness tips and tricks that we’re lucky to benefit from, thanks to our very own Carolina M., a dedicated Healing Hands Practitioner. Carolina is passionate about helping others find balance and energy in their professional lives. Today, she’s sharing a simple yet powerful self-care practice to help you reset, recharge, and thrive at work. Breaking Free from Limiting Beliefs: The 3-Minute Reset When stress mounts or self-doubt creeps in, try this quick three-minute practice combining coaching insights with energy principles: 1. Pause and Connect (30 seconds) Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly. Take three deep breaths, feeling your belly expand with each inhale. This simple pose activates your vagus nerve, signaling safety to your nervous system while connecting your heart's wisdom with your gut instinct. 2. Cross-Crawl for Whole-Brain Thinking (60 seconds) Stand up and march in place, touching your right elbow to your left knee, then your left elbow to your right knee. This cross-lateral movement integrates both hemispheres of your brain, bypassing the "either/or" thinking that often underlies workplace stress. As you move, silently repeat: "I am capable of [fill in the blank]." 3. Powerful Questions for Reframing (90 seconds) While continuing gentle movement (even seated), ask yourself these coaching questions: "What would this situation look like if it were easy?" "What would my most supportive self advise me to do right now?" "What's one small step I can take in the next hour?" By incorporating techniques into your day, you're not just managing stress—you're actively reclaiming your energy and attention. You're creating space to respond rather than react, allowing your best self to show up fully in your professional life. Remember: Your energy is your most valuable resource. Investing a few minutes to reset and recharge isn't self-indulgent—it's the foundation of sustainable success. I'd love to hear about your experience in the comments!
