Team Gleason, an innovative nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals living with ALS, is seeking a passionate and resourceful Technology & Equipment Coordinator. In this role, you will help people with ALS access the technology and equipment needed to maintain independence, sustain purpose, and reduce caregiver burden. This position requires a strong communicator with exceptional customer service skills, capable of managing individualized requests, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with team members to ensure timely support. How wonderful it is for an organization that reaches out and cares about the quality of life for someone and their family that has no ability to control their situation. The Pride Jazzy electric wheelchair has been an answer to a frustrating problem and has allowed some freedom for my husband, Michael, and myself. He has been able to leave the house and join in a meal or even going to the doctor appointments without the fear of falling or getting so fatigued he just cannot continue. Not every adventure requires a long flight or multi-day road trip. They can happen much closer to home! Rhoda was raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and absolutely loves her rural town. Her daughter, Natalie, reached out to Team Gleason so that they could experience it in a brand-new way on a private tour with Strasburg Scooter Tours. "We are very grateful that we got to do something together that we had never done before. We are thankful for the experience we would have otherwise not been able to have if Team Gleason hadn’t helped us have the adventure." "We are beyond grateful! My husband Jeff was diagnosed with ALS November 2023. Jeff loves going to NC STATE Sporting events. He wasn't able to walk long distances and wasn't able to attend functions with his family due to this. We heard about Team Gleason from our ALS advocate and reached out through email. The whole process was so easy, and we had a wheelchair in our home within 10 days... We are able to get around now with no problems. At first my husband thought he was giving up if he sat in the chair. It's not giving up; it's just allowing him to LIVE and not wear him out from walking!!!!!! It has given us time to travel and go places we wouldn't be able to.
