The 2025 2s, FREEs & 3s? competition kicked off March 1 with the opportunity for the best shooter in Wisconsin to win $10,000 in cash and prizes.?The basketball shooting competition is open to all ages, genders, and abilities with divisions from 9 years old and under to 55+, as well as adaptive. Anyone can win as proven in 2024 when?a 9-year-old shooter,?Crew?Miskel, won the ultimate shooting competition beating out the other division winners, all of whom were older.? ? The program continues to grow both in the number of shooters and its impact on our community. We are looking to hire someone who can help us grow the program even further. Twenty regional competitions throughout the area will be held in the coming weeks as hundreds of shooters will compete to advance to four sectionals in June and July, with the top shooters getting the chance to compete in the state finals at Marquette University in early August.? ? A new feature this year is the?Bank Five Nine (Community Bank) shot.?Any competitor that makes a bank shot from shooting spots 5 or 9 is entered into a raffle for a $2,000 cash prize from Bank Five Nine, with the drawing held at the state finals. More than 240 people attended the inaugural Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame Speaker Series event on Feb. 11 at the Marcus Performing Arts Center featuring Green Bay legend Donald Driver and WEC Energy Group chairman Gale Klappa. Driver and Klappa were interviewed by Hall of Fame executive director Mark Kass and offered great stories and advice on leadership lessons from athletics to the C-suite.
