Team IMPACT is a 501(c)3 national nonprofit that connects children facing serious or chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, forming lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes. Team IMPACT is a 2021 FOS “Best Employers in Sports” winner, a certified “Great Place to Work”, and is currently ranked 100/100 in all of Charity Navigators currently available “Star rating”. The only U.S. nonprofit that helps children with serious or chronic illness overcome acute social and emotional isolation by matching them with a college athletic team for inclusion and purpose. Our two-year clinically-based plan for each child completes the full circle of healing, and results in relationships and skills that last a lifetime. “His smile will make your day. He can really attract people to come and say hi. We call it his superpower, his smile.” Mitchell has been sharing that infectious smile with the Minnesota Football team since 2023, when he joined the team through Team IMPACT after being diagnosed with a rare, genetic, multi-system health disorder known as Gould Syndrome. Since joining the Gophers, Mitchell lights up when he gets to join the team on the field and has changed the lives of his Minnesota teammates.
