In 2023, TEAM DDS launched our M.I.A. Project, which stands for Meaningful Insightful Actions. The focus of our efforts is kids' mental health; helping to create a world where mental health is a vital part of every child's upbringing. As part of our commitment to this project, we dedicate a portion of our quarterly meetings to providing education to our own staff about the issues. Tracee L. Black-Fall, a trainer for Safex, a safety and consulting firm, ?and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) provided our team with an eye-opening presentation about "The Teen Brain" during our January quarterly meeting. We thank Tracee for sharing her knowledge on this critical issue. Her passion for the topic is inspiring! We are excited to announce the opening of Daniel Straka, MD's pekomd office in Worthington. Dr. Straka is one of the few surgeons in Ohio trained in both ophthalmic and facial plastic surgery. TEAM DDS carried out an interior renovation of his 2,900 square foot building. Our diverse custom offerings enabled us to repurpose some of the existing space – transforming offices into treatment rooms. The rest we demo’d and redesigned to include additional offices, a sterilization room and new photo area, all with modern, detailed finishes. The Dental Network Group (DNG) is an organization dedicated to supporting the dental industry, and TEAM DDS is a proud member. The design team at TEAM DDS manages several key components in a medical office construction project. Initially, they conduct a site visit and create a floor plan layout for the client's approval. The team then produces drawings that comply with updated building code regulations, incorporating any necessary modifications in coordination with the construction team. Once finalized, these drawings, along with energy calculations for lighting and mechanical equipment, are submitted to the local jurisdiction for approval. Additionally, Medical Gas permits must be approved by the local health department. All registrations with the different jurisdictions must be in good standing and all permits approved before construction starts. By scheduling our construction work during off-hours, we strive to be as courteous as possible during a phased expansion, especially to the side of the office that is open for business.
