I always get asked this question… “Do I really need to tailor my resume to the job description each time I apply to a new role?” My answer is yes and no. Yes, because it’s important to ensure you are showcasing that you have experience with and can do each minimum requirement listed on the job description. If you’re sending the same resume every time, there’s a good chance you aren’t showing how you can do the necessary requirements of the job. As a result, you’re most likely getting a rejection back. The candidates that are really good at standing out are the ones that are addressing how their experience directly relates to the specific job they apply to and how they have solved similar problems in the past. While on the other hand, no, because I love having a master resume that you can pull from and build off of instead of starting from scratch each time.?
