It’s here! In celebration of Indigenous People’s Day, we are happy to present a newly updated version of the lesson “Negotiating Native Identity through Art, Poetry and Music.” The new version includes: ● Interactive handouts which can be distributed and filled out electronically ● Differentiation materials so that a wider body of students can engage with the lesson ● “Quality of Life” edits that make the lesson more clear and streamlined This lesson invites students to brave the process of presenting their authentic self, while also exploring the work of Native artists Taboo, Stevie Salas, Diane Burns, and 2024 MacArthur Fellow, Wendy Red Starr.
