This afternoon at #NAEYCac we had a great session featuring Breeyn Mack, Dr. Nicol Russell, and Tammy Kwan: Realizing The Promise of Assessment. Together, they shared ways to reimagine capturing and leveraging assessment information from a variety of inputs to build a complete picture of each child. And, they previewed some exciting new updates coming to GOLD in the coming year!

It was a packed room this morning for our #NAEYCac session on highly effective pre-K programs. Our experts were joined by Tontra Love, an Early Learning Coach with Oakland Unified School District, and Holly McKrill, an Early Learning Teacher on Special Assignment with Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, for "Investigation, Socialization, and the Science of Reading: Leveraging 'What Works' to Make the Most of the Year Before Kindergarten." If you missed it, we encourage you to check out our recorded webinar, "Getting Ready for Kindergarten: How School and District Leaders Can Help Prepare Children for Success in Kindergarten and Beyond." Last week, Teaching Strategies' Luis D. Wasserman and Suzana Spina attended the Annual OMEP Nigeria Conference (OMEP WORLD is the World Organisation for Early Childhood Education). They were the first American delegation to participate in the conference's 36-year history. They presented sessions on building resilience and play-based learning and distributed 40 The Creative Curriculum for Kindergarten Seeds Study Mini-Kits, which will enable Nigerian schools to experience project-based learning firsthand. Together with teachers and school leaders from across Africa, they connected, danced, laughed, and had fruitful conversations about how to strengthen play- and inquiry-based learning.
