Teach For America?is proud to be a data-driven organization, and we're grateful to have access to research that strengthens and evolves our work.?This year, we partnered with the American Institutes for Research?to conduct a meta-analysis of the effects TFA teachers have on student achievement.?This?tells us that?TFA teachers have had a consistent and significant impact on students’ learning, and affirms?that the impact our corps members and alumni teachers are having in our communities is not isolated to any one context or single study. The analysis included 23 studies of TFA’s impact spanning 24 years—including 63,134 teachers and over 5 million students—and found: -On average, students of TFA teachers perform better in?math?than those of similar non-TFA teachers. -On average, students of TFA teachers perform better in?science?than those of similar non-TFA teachers. -On average, students of TFA teachers perform similarly in?reading?to those of similar non-TFA teachers. ?
