In the 2024 elections, VP Harris did not secure 50% of the Jewish vote in Pennsylvania or New York's 4th District, both areas where our voter mobilization initiatives, #PAUnites and #LongIslandUnites, were active. This shift in voting patterns among Jewish communities has prompted many discussions. Our founder, Maury Litwack, shared the results of our recent exit poll with the New York Post. Across the country, Jewish communities rallied to make their voices heard. With rising concerns around antisemitism and a need for stronger representation, voters mobilized like never before. Thank you Long Island! I had the pleasure of joining the OU Executive Fellows on their expedition to some of the Orthodox Union's Long Island facilities yesterday. First stop was at Yachad's JUF and IVDU LI location where we learned about interacting with individuals with disabilities (and everyone!) sensitively. We toured the IVDU school, including their awesome ball pit and climbing wall. Next stop, Teach Coalition's amazing Long Island Voting Center. We heard from Sydney Altfield about how Teach NY operates and the importance and impact that each and every vote has. After that, we hit the phones and hit the road, making calls and knocking on doors to encourage voting and to answer questions for local community members may have about voting. It's very cool seeing the range in which the OU operates. Spending the morning with one OU program impacting so many lives of those with disabilities and their families. Then a quick drive to another OU program who are disrupting the landscape of Jewish voting and community organization. All with one common goal - enhancing the lives of the Jewish community.

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to join the Orthodox Union Executive Fellows visit to the Teach Coalition Long Island Unites Voter Center. As someone from Long Island, this was especially meaningful to me—working in my hometown to encourage engagement was truly rewarding. We kept hearing the same message all day: Don’t Kvetch, Just Vote! We knocked on doors and made calls, encouraging neighbors to make their voices heard in tomorrow’s election. Election Day is tomorrow! Your vote does matter. Consider this your reminder to take a few minutes to cast your ballot and make an impact in your community. #ElectionDay #Vote Thank you to everyone who made today possible! Another vote in the books! ??? It feels great to be part of the wave of voters showing up this year. As the OU's Teach Coalition’s Maury Litwack explains ?? Millions sit elections out for all kinds of reasons—thinking their vote won’t count, not liking the options, or not knowing where to go—but voting is one of the best ways we have to shape the future we want to see. Jewish voices are coming out in full force this election. ?? So, if you’ve got something to kvetch about, take it to the polls!

With just one week until Election Day, Jewish voters in Pennsylvania could be pivotal in this battleground state. Our recent poll (conducted in August 2024 with the Bradley Honan Group) shows the race among Pennsylvania Jewish voters nearly split—49% for Harris and 42% for Trump. With approximately 300,000 Jewish voters in the state, these voices may shape the outcome of a close race. ? To encourage turnout, we launched Pennsylvania Unites to mobilize Jewish voters across the state. Whether you’re in Pennsylvania or not, you can help—reach out to friends or family there and encourage them to make a voting plan at teachcoalition.org/votepa. Every vote counts in shaping our community’s future! #PennsylvaniaUnites #VoterTurnout #Advocacy #Community

A federal court ruled today that California’s exclusion of religious schools from special-education programs is unlawful. Teach Coalition and Becket Law stand with parents and schools to ensure students with disabilities receive the support they deserve, regardless of their faith. This decision is a powerful move toward true educational equity! Read the statement from our founder and CEO, Maury Litwack, below: #breakingnews #discrimination #advocacy #community #jewisheducation

“[Teach Coalition], a national group of Orthodox Jews dedicated to securing funding for Jewish institutions?opened a get-out-the-vote office in September at a busy intersection in Merion Station, part of a heavily Jewish area northwest of Philadelphia.” With over 400,000 Jews living in the swing state of Pennsylvania, both parties are working hard to win the Jewish vote. We recognized the importance of this moment and launched PA Unites to ensure every Jewish voice is heard this general election. Because your vote is your voice—and your Jewish future. “Hate crimes and harassment?fueled by antisemitism?and Islamophobia are at record highs,?and our children deserve to be protected, no matter where they go to school," shared Maury Litwack for the New York Post. Today, on October 7, we reflect on the urgent need for increased safety in our schools. Amid a surge in antisemitism and Islamophobia this year, small NYC yeshivas and other religious schools are advocating for a new bill to fund security guards and protect students.
