关于我们
The mission of The Denver Foundation is to inspire people and mobilize resources to strengthen our community. The Denver Foundation is the product of 100 years of generous donors, hard working volunteers, and visionary grantees. In November 1925, community leaders came together to create an endowment to serve the future needs of Metro Denver. They recognized that community needs are always changing, and they wanted to give succeeding generations some resources to help meet future needs.

Last night I had the opportunity to attend The Denver Foundation's 100th Anniversary celebration Raices Brewing Company! Happy Birthday, Denver Foundation, and thank you (Javier Alberto Soto, Dace West, Lisa Zuniga Ramirez, CFA, FSA, Charmaine Brown, MA, MBA, and the whole team) for your tremendous support of our community through your work with nonprofits, donors, and thought leadership! It also filled my heart with joy to connect with so many community leaders like Angeles Ortega, Rebecca Arno, Steve Shineman, MBA, CFP?, Nick Lopez, and so many more doing great work on issues like food, housing, scholarships, small business development, workforce development, the environment, and youth. Together we CAN make a difference!

Emily Griffith served on our original board in 1926. Before joining the board, Griffith opened the Opportunity School in Denver to offer traditional education as well as hands-on training “for all those who wish to learn.” A schoolteacher, school administrator, and reformer, Griffith fought for students to have access to educational resources no matter their race, gender, or age. Emily Griffith Foundation - a long-time partner of The Denver Foundation - carries on Emily Griffith's vision as it continues to support access to education today and for years to come. More than a century later, her legacy lives on. #WomensHistoryMonth

Through our Critical Needs Fund, our most rapid response fund, we are supporting our immigrant neighbors who have come here seeking freedom and opportunity. Last year, The Denver Foundation and our donors gave almost $2 million to ensure effective legal representation and support integration, education, public health, and other critical assistance to our immigrant neighbors. Join us in continuing these efforts. We are stronger when everyone has the opportunity to contribute. https://lnkd.in/gv9XfxV8

We are thrilled to share that The Gateway Fund II at The Denver Foundation, a donor-advised fund of The Denver Foundation, has awarded Community Food Share $81,000 to support our food security operations throughout 2025! This incredible gift will help us provide nutritious food to thousands of families across Boulder and Broomfield counties. Thank you for fueling our mission and ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry! ?? ?? @locallie_yours

For more than 130 years, Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado has adapted to meet the needs of Colorado moms and their children. The impact they've had throughout their history has inspired community members to support its mission. An enduring example of this support comes from one of our donors, Helen McLoraine, a philanthropist whose generosity will continue to support the organization and impact families for years to come. Cheers to our amazing policy committee member, Hunter Nelson, MSW! We are so proud to have supported you and the rest of the planning team in executing a successful Entrepreneurship at the Capitol. And hope to see attendees at the Capitol more this session. The Denver Foundation David Portillo
There are days in your career that just remind you why you do what you do, and Wednesday was one of those for me. My first Entrepreneur Day of Action is in the books! Thank you to my co-hosts Theresa Rinne-Meyers Karen Bartlett Doni Clemons Sarah Craft, working with you all to bring this event together has been a dream! I can’t wait to keep working together ?? With over 25 meetings with legislators and over 65 small business owners in attendance, the Colorado small business community showed up and out to advocate for policy change to support diverse entrepreneurship! Let’s keep it going! We are living in really tumultuous times right now, and things can feel heavy. But the energy, community and all around great vibes from this event have reinvigorated me and gives me so much hope for the future in a time that feels pretty dark. Thank you to our lobby captains Naomi Amaha Morgan Turner, MPH David Portillo Monica VanBuskirk Dawn Nudell Richardson Aaron Zimola! Getting everyone to all of the meetings wouldn’t have been possible without you all. Thank you Community Language Cooperative for providing Spanish interpretation so that entrepreneurs could participate in the language of their hearts! Thank you Lindsey Vigoda, MSW for flying out to support, you are the best! Thank you to The Denver Foundation for sponsoring, the support of the foundation for Colorado’s small businesses means so much! Thank you to Lt. Governor Primavera and all of the legislators who spoke to or met with small business owners throughout the day! And big thank you to Representative Naquetta Ricks, MBA for being our legislative sponsor! Onward and upwards! #EDayofAction#smallbusiness#advocacy
