Massive multi-year transformation initiatives are always rewarding and challenging, and when they are successfully completed, one always looks for the key moment to realize, recognize and appreciate the accomplishment… When Jonathan Hollander and Elias Murad handed over a mason jar with sample of shredded pieces of our on-prem servers, the significance of the moment just dawned upon me! My teams have completed a fundamental transformation to migrate our data assets from a legacy on-prem infrastructure to our strategic cloud data platform – Rahona!! (means cloud in Malagasy, BTW) Earlier this month, we took some time to break away and celebrate TD's successful Cloud modernization journey.?I'm so proud of our?teams, who came together to?build?an industry leading data intelligence ecosystem that's scalable, secure, and efficient, and one that's enabling critical capabilities like Generative AI and future innovation at scale across the enterprise. TD's data transformation powers the Bank's ability to adapt and evolve, for our customers, colleagues, the businesses and communities we support, and helps us deliver timely, hyper-personalized experiences for our customers. I spoke with The Walrus about TD's culture of curiosity through our enterprise ideation (iD8) and patent programs. These programs are integral to giving a voice to all colleagues to share their innovative ideas about how we can improve the customer and colleague experience. Over the five years that the iD8 program has been in place, we have received nearly 100,000 ideas from colleagues across the Bank. Our patent base has grown over the last three years to reach over 1,000 colleagues, with representation across the entire enterprise and the Bank's ideation power has led to over 2,500 patent filings. Our TD Accessibility Adapter warms my ??. Created to address the fact that only 3% of internet content is accessible, it provides a better experience for everyone including those with low vision, color vision deficiency, epilepsy, ADHD and more. And in the spirit of ‘nothing about me without me’ we partnered with our own TD colleagues and community partners including CNIB and Disability:IN - and have now launched - not only internally but to everyone in Canada and the US - through the Google Chrome Store at no cost. We’re also thrilled to launch our innovative campaign on Color Blind Awareness Day to help raise awareness. The campaign features our first billboard ad that is more easily readable for those with color blindness: ‘’If you can see this, it's because we see you.’’ The TD Accessibility Adapter is a great demonstration of innovating with purpose and reflective of our brand belief that people matter most. ? Last month, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the 2024 Virtual Latinas In Tech - New York City x TD Bank Summit. It was an inspiring experience filled with empowering stories, innovative ideas, and a sense of community that truly celebrates the achievements and potential of Latinas in the tech industry. I left the summit inspired, armed with new connections, platforms, courses, and resources to support my job search. I am deeply grateful for the support and advice I received during this event. From insightful panels to engaging networking sessions, I had the pleasure of learning from individuals who are making a significant impact in the industry. The speakers shared invaluable insights in career development, building facial recognition systems, pathways to tech roles within banking, financial literacy through credit awareness, and exploring tech innovations at TD.
