关于我们
Temenos has been building permanent supportive housing since 2006, with the first property, Knowles Temenos Place Apartments (Temenos I), at 1719 Gray St. Since that time, Temenos has built two additional properties, Temenos II and Temenos III. Temenos CDC properties are located in the Downtown, Midtown and East End areas of Houston. All three neighborhoods are undergoing significant revitalization. Therefore the presence of the Temenos properties to help alleviate the challenges of homelessness is vital.

Temenos CDC honors the sacrifices made by our fellow Americans and extends our heartfelt gratitude. These sacrifices do not come with ease, we encourage veterans in need of support to connect with Houston-based organizations like Combined Arms (combinedarms.us.), which offers career assistance, mental health support, and family services to help ease the transition from military to civilian life, and Camp Hope (ptsdusa.org.), a residential program provided by the PTSD Foundation of America, supporting veterans dealing with PTSD. These organizations provide critical resources, community, and care for those who have served.

?? Your Voice, Your Vote! Temenos CDC wants YOU to know that voting is not just your right as a U.S. citizen but also your duty to ensure your voice is heard. Let’s make a difference together—get out there and vote! ??? ?? Did you know: ?? Early voting allows voters to cast their ballots at their convenience before Election Day, which can help accommodate those with work, family, or other commitments. This can lead to higher voter turnout as individuals who may otherwise be unable to vote on the designated day can participate. Early voting typically can present as packed during the first day or so but normally slows down and wait times can be as quick as 10-15 minutes! ?? By spreading out the voting period over several days, early voting can significantly decrease the number of people at polling places on Election Day. This can lead to shorter wait times, making the voting process more efficient and less stressful. Additionally, Houston offers multiple ways to vote, including in-person voting during early voting periods, on Election Day, and mail-in voting (absentee voting) for those who qualify. ?? ?? If you're ready to make your voice heard, we’ve included a link just for you, leading you to all early voting locations in Houston. Grab your friends and family, and let’s make voting happen! See you at the polls! ?? ??? ?? Celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day ?? ?? Today, we honor the rich cultural history and contributions of the Native American peoples. Indigenous communities have had a profound impact on agriculture, medicine, and environmental conservation, including the cultivation of crops like corn, beans, and squash—commonly known as "The Three Sisters"—which have shaped global agriculture ?? ?? ?? Locally, the Houston/Buffalo Bayou area was historically home to several Indigenous tribes. Please enjoy some cool facts and check out the below infographic! ?? Akokisa: One of the primary tribes in the Texas Gulf Coast, particularly around present-day Houston and Galveston Bay, living in small villages near rivers and bays, relying on fishing, hunting, and gathering ?? ?? ?? Atakapa-Ishak: The broader Atakapa group, including the Akokisa, spanned eastward into Louisiana. They were semi-nomadic, using canoes to navigate waterways for travel and trade ?? ?? Karankawa: Known for their skills in fishing and canoeing, they traveled between the mainland and barrier islands along the Gulf of Mexico. These tribes played a significant role in the region's history, long before Houston was established ?? Today, we recognize their resilience and lasting contributions. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #CulturalHeritage #HoustonHistory #RespectIndigenousRights #BuffaloBayouFacts #houstonnonprofits #temenoscdc
