As we wrap up our reflections on Black History Month, we’re grateful for the moments of learning, connection, and celebration that made this month meaningful. Led by our Brave ERG, our February activities honored Black history and culture in engaging ways—testing our knowledge with two virtual trivia games, exploring Chicago’s rich Black heritage through a virtual tour, and sharing employee-submitted local celebrations, speeches, and poems that highlighted the significance of this month. A huge thank you to everyone who participated—whether by attending events, sharing resources, or taking time to learn. 14 Million+ Steps Strong! ? Our New Year, New You Walking Challenge has officially wrapped up, and our employees crushed it! A total of 74 participants logged an incredible 14,024,098 steps—what a way to kick off the new year! Winning Team: Winter Walkers with 1,530,151 steps Top Individual Walker totaled 669,961 steps! This challenge was more than just steps—it was about movement, motivation, and fun! We spiced things up with weekly challenges, and our participants brought their A-game. A Big Win for Our Legal Team! We’re excited to share that Taxwell’s Legal Team has been named one of two finalists for the 2024 DFW Corporate Legal Department of the Year Award! This prestigious honor by the Association of Corporate Counsel’s DFW Chapter and The Texas Lawbook recognizes legal departments that achieve extraordinary success while managing complex challenges. Focused Giving: Supporting Food Security and Disaster Recovery At Taxwell, we’re dedicated to making a difference by directing our annual giving toward critical causes in the communities where our employees live and work. Each year, we prioritize fighting food insecurity by partnering with food banks across key areas with a strong employee presence—Cedar Rapids, IA; Dallas, TX; Greenville, SC; and Western North Carolina. This year, we’re expanding our commitment by involving our newly established Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). In addition to our annual food bank donations, each ERG has chosen organizations that align with their unique missions, broadening our impact and connecting us even more deeply with our communities. When Hurricane Helene struck Western North Carolina, it hit close to home for many of us. To support recovery efforts, we went above and beyond our usual annual giving with an additional $15,000 donation, supporting three organizations dedicated to helping the impacted communities rebuild and recover. We’re proud to stand together in giving back, addressing urgent needs, and helping build a stronger future for all. Our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) recently gathered at our Dallas office for a team-building summit, focused on strengthening collaboration and communication across the organization. Key discussions revolved around our Value Creation Plan (VCP), strategic alignment, IRS and government relations, financial performance, and Taxwell's cutting-edge advances in AI. A major highlight of the meeting was our Employee Engagement Survey. The SLT and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) worked together to brainstorm ideas on enhancing the employee experience across the company. We also took part in a fun and meaningful team-building activity—assembling eight bicycles to be donated to children during the holiday season.
