How can we make an uncomfortable situation more comfortable? The new Silverado Ranch DMV in Las Vegas solves this question with a few solutions: The project team brought in an acoustician to investigate how noise and chatter would sound in the lobby. After analyzing their findings, the team sought to cover wood furnishing with a fabric tac-board system to help reduce vibrations around the interior. The ceiling is also constructed with an acoustic gypsum board to create better conditions for conversation. On the ground floor, central casework supplies cool air to the lobby, rather than traditionally elevated HVAC systems. What's more, the casework acts a central location to comfortably fill out paperwork. Finally, main lobby is illuminated by five large clerestory windows that diffuse ambient daylight into the space—enhancing visual comfort and easing stress. - #weareMORE #architecture #design #lasvegas #acoustics

Silverado Ranch DMV will serve as the training ground for every CDL and DMV employee in Nevada. Home to 15 service counters for CDL drivers, 5 counters for the motor carrier division, and a full-sized test course for drivers looking to receive their CDL license, the location will provide better and more consistent training, as well as more efficient services for Nevada state employees. - #weareMORE #architecture #design #lasvegas

The new Silverado Ranch DMV in Las Vegas will be the largest DMV facility in the state of Nevada. Conveniently located near the intersection of Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Valley View Boulevard, the building's location will provide ease of access to residents of southwest Las Vegas—the fastest growing region in the city. Featuring 60,511 square feet and 60 service counters, the DMV is equipped to serve large numbers of residents at any given time. After hours, 4 walk-up and 2 drive-through kiosks will provide additional avenues for 24/7 assistance once the building opens in 2026. - #weareMORE #architecture #design #lasvegas
