Texas Teacher of the Year is the highest honor that the State of Texas can bestow upon a teacher. The official State of Texas program, facilitated by Texas Association of School Administrators since 2011, annually recognizes and rewards teachers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and excellence in teaching. Each school district may nominate two teachers — one elementary and one secondary educator — for Regional Teacher of the Year by completing the application: https://buff.ly/niQ1dX4 #txtoy

We're celebrating 75 years of service to Texas school boards.
关于我们
We're a nonprofit, nonpartisan, education association that serves Texas school boards — the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The Texas Association of School Boards is a voluntary, nonprofit, nonpartisan, statewide educational association established in 1949 to serve local Texas school boards — the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state with more than 7,000 school board trustees. Our mission is to promote educational excellence for Texas public schoolchildren through advocacy, visionary leadership, and high-quality services to school districts. TASB has 75 years of experience with Texas public schools and provides assistance in all areas of public-school governance and operation with high-quality solutions and services designed to support the critical work of educating the millions of public schoolchildren in our state. For decades, nearly all school boards in Texas have been active members of TASB — giving us the opportunity to coalesce and amplify school trustees’ voices across the state. Our longstanding membership rate is the result of keeping the needs of school boards — and their districts — at the heart of everything we do. The initial focuses of TASB — advocacy, training, and information resources — are as important today as they were in the beginning. And as schools have had to respond to inevitable challenges, so has TASB responded with innovative solutions and services that seek to minimize the operational burdens of government and keep taxpayer resources for the benefit of local schools and their communities. Besides legal, policy, and human resources support, member school boards have access to risk management services, investment and insurance assistance, a purchasing cooperative, an energy cooperative, facility services, special population consulting, and more.

Happy Texas Independence Day! On this day in 1836, Texans stood for self-governance and the right to shape their own future. That independent spirit still defines our state today—especially in our independent school districts. Just as Texas fought for the ability to make its own decisions, local school boards, elected by their communities, work every day to ensure students have the opportunities and resources they need to succeed. At TASB, we celebrate the strength of local leadership and the belief that decisions about public education should be made by those who know their communities best. Here’s to Texas, to independence, and to the future we build together through strong public schools! #txed
