So proud to share that?Tarka Indian Kitchen?was named Best Indian Restaurant in Houston for the second time in three years after coming in second last year to the venerable Aga's who somehow didn't make the finals this year despite serving some of the best Indian food in the city IMO. All the credit goes to our amazing store level and operations team! They are the reason we have come this far and can't wait to continue expanding so we can introduce as many people as possible to the greatness of Indian cuisine. Tarka is also a finalist for Best Indian Restaurant in our hometown of Austin and in San Antonio, where we recently opened a store earlier this year. Winner Winner, Chicken Tikka Dinner! Tarka Indian Kitchen was named Best Indian Restaurant in San Antonio by the San Antonio Current. The title has been held by Indian Palace since 2018 and this is the first year, we have won the award! Appreciate each and every one of our team members and guests who have supported us throughout the years to make this possible. ?? Our 10th location - our second in San Antonio, to go along with four in Austin & four in Houston - is finally open for business! It took a lot longer than we expected, but we can't wait to share our love for Indian cuisine with our new hood in West San Antonio and many more hoods and guests to come! Very grateful to the entire Tarka Team, and everyone involved in the opening the store. Amazing to think our little company, still founder owned and operated, has reached double digits in store count, while maintaining our core values of making fresh-to-order Indian cuisine and creating a healthy workplace culture where every member of the team can excel! The past 15 years have been a true labor of love. Looking forward to the next 15, and taking Indian food to the next level on a national scale, but for now, just enjoying this amazing milestone with the team. ??

A little ambivalent about this recognition because we are still founder owned and operated and don't like to be thought of as a "chain restaurant," but anytime you are mentioned alongside great local peers like P. Terry's Burger Stand and national ones like Shake Shack, it's a validation that we have grown to a scale to be noticed like this and that we provide a consistent product across our stores due to our recipes, training procedures and most importantly, our amazing team! Speaking of growth, we will be opening our 10th location next month, our 2nd in the San Antonio market, to go along with our 4 stores each in Austin & Houston. Proudly home-made in Austin, Texas.
