It’s Transit Driver Appreciation Day. And today, we’re celebrating the hardworking drivers who keep our communities moving — from braving adverse weather to ensuring we reach our destinations on time. Pedestrians are most at risk of collision on city roads at night — particularly on dark urban arterial roads. To stop wrong-way driving, Connecticut has installed Wrong-Way Alert Systems at 137 ramp locations across the state. And we're excited to hear they're working as intended. In fact, officials say that most drivers encountering the systems are self-correcting. Now, they're planning to implement 200 more systems.
