It’s been 19 months since #Iran #hijacked the Suezmax #tanker ADVANTAGE SWEET (9587192), which was carrying #Kuwaiti oil to the United States. Although the vessel has been released since, her oil stayed behind in Iran. Through a court ruling, Iran seized that oil as compensation for US #sanctions. This oil may likely be sold to a new buyer. Yesterday, we informed our corporate clients that the #oil has been transferred to another vessel, which will likely #export it. We are keeping tight surveillance in order to discover the destination. We have no further comments to the press on the matter. #oott #kuwait #us #usa #vessel #maritime #oilandgas

Two weeks ago, we informed Corporate clients of a future STS transfer of these two specific cargoes of Russian crude oil off the coast of Morocco. Today, we spotted the STS. The receiver is a known Iran & Venezuela sanctions violator. Nothing new. OUR COUNTER ANALYSIS: A LOT has changed when it comes to Iran's #oil #exports over the past 4 years. The #DarkFleet that handles these exports has grown many multiples; and most of the oil goes to #China. If anything, China's refiners will be happy to buy even cheaper #Iranian and #Venezuelan oil now thanks to eventual sanctions enforcement by the Trump administration. It doesn't seem likely that we'll see a substantial drop in Iranian oil exports after #Iran welcomed in hundreds of tankers into this oil trade. The Dark Fleet continues to be a growing industry in itself thanks to #Russia and #Venezuela as well. It's often the same tankers working all three markets.
