You’ve heard it before – recruiters, hiring managers, and human resource professionals spend 7-10 seconds looking at a resume. So, make those seconds count! Craft your resume to be applicable to the job you're applying for, and most importantly, spend time on the Cover Letter. This is where you show interest and excitement in the open position, what you bring to the table, and the positive impact you’ll have at their company. It’s always hard to sing your praises; however, your Cover Letter is the place for it. The link below to a Forbes article provides excellent interview tips now that your resume has passed the Applicant Tracking System and is in the hands of the hiring manager. https://lnkd.in/gfaaMYcX #interviewtips #jobsearch #coverletter #resume https://lnkd.in/g5wa-wBE

Why you should write your competitor’s business plan: This is an interesting idea - write your competitor's business plan. At Tangent West, we operate in a way that few others can. While some might call us generalists, the truth is we are deeply specialized in a few key areas where there is virtually no competition. For example, when it comes to finding Executive Assistants for C-level executives in Denver, no one does it better. We’ve spent over a decade building relationships with both executives and assistants, earning their trust through discretion and confidentiality. Many of the candidates we represent can’t be found on LinkedIn or social media—they require a level of security and confidentiality that we are uniquely positioned to provide. Another area where we excel is the New Orleans market. While there are other firms in the area, none come close to matching our years of experience and deep-rooted connections. This local expertise gives us an edge that is hard to replicate. Our ability to handle C-level searches is another strength that sets us apart. These placements aren’t just about filling a role—they’re about understanding the goals, needs, and nuances of the executives we work with. Because of the personal relationships and friendships we’ve cultivated over the years, we’re able to present opportunities to top executives in a way that is both thoughtful and impactful. As we approach year-end, it’s worth reflecting on what has brought us this far and how we can continue to build on that success. Whether it’s doubling down on our niches, finding new ways to support our clients and candidates, or exploring untapped opportunities, the possibilities are exciting. Why you should write your competitor’s business plan It’s not just an exercise when launching a new business. Here’s how to think deeply about your competition during times of change. Good news for recent college graduates and hiring in attached article. Update on market- we are continuing to see hiring and an increase on Executive Assistant searches in the Denver area the last two weeks. Accounting and finance recruiting in Denver remains strong. “C” suite recruiting has picked up as well. The only caveat is the length of hiring times has almost doubled. Stay in the game, remain steadfast and patient. Class of 2025 college graduates could see more job openings — especially in these fields After two years of declines, employers are planning to hire more new grads this spring than they did last year. Here’s why employers are ‘cautiously optimistic.’ Read in MarketWatch:?https://lnkd.in/gtFjhAsW #collegegraduates #jobopenings #hiring

The Power of the Space: Part One—Job Rejection Most people believe that life unfolds in a simple pattern: Stimulus → Response But in reality, there’s a vital step in between—a?space. It’s in this space where your true power lies. This concept isn’t new; it has roots in ancient philosophies and modern psychology. For our purposes, let’s use this concept to navigate a common challenge in hiring and executive recruiting:?job rejection. The Stimulus At some point, you may face the disappointment of not getting a job you really wanted. Hearing the words,?“We went with another candidate,”?is the stimulus. The Response What happens next is entirely up to you. The?space?between the rejection and your reaction is your opportunity for growth, learning, and redirection. This space is one of the few aspects of life you can truly control. Navigating the Space It’s okay to feel the emotions that come with rejection—disappointment, frustration, even anger. However, what you do within that space can influence how the situation unfolds and shape your future opportunities. Even in high-pressure situations where a quick response is needed, you can train yourself to pause, breathe, and craft a response that serves your long-term goals. Conclusion The space between a stimulus and response is where growth happens. In the face of job rejection, this space gives you the power to respond thoughtfully, maintain relationships, and leave a lasting impression. Mastering this approach will not only help you handle rejection with grace but also strengthen your resilience and open doors to future opportunities.
