Uncertainty is a given in leadership. Whether it’s market shifts, organizational change, or unexpected challenges, leaders often have to make decisions without having all the answers. The best leaders don’t fear ambiguity—they learn to navigate it. Here’s how to lead when the path isn’t clear: ?? Stay focused on core values. When things feel uncertain, your values provide a steady guide for decision-making. ?? Communicate openly. You don’t need to have all the answers, but transparency builds trust and keeps teams engaged. ?? Encourage adaptability. A rigid mindset won’t work in uncertain times. Stay flexible and open to new approaches. ?? Empower your team. Ambiguity can create hesitation—give your team the clarity and confidence to take action. ?? Take decisive action. Even when you’re unsure, making thoughtful moves forward is better than getting stuck in analysis paralysis. Ambiguity doesn’t have to create fear—it can create opportunity, growth, and innovation. What’s one way you stay steady when leading through uncertainty? #Leadership #Uncertainty #DecisionMaking #Adaptability #CherieSilas #TandemCoaching

Leadership means making tough calls—often with high stakes and no perfect answers. But confident decision-making isn’t about always knowing the right choice—it’s about trusting your process and leading with clarity. Here’s how to navigate difficult decisions with confidence: ? Get clear on your priorities. What matters most? Align decisions with your values, goals, and long-term impact. ? Gather insights—but don’t overanalyze. Input is valuable, but waiting for perfect certainty leads to paralysis. ? Consider the ripple effects. Who will this impact? Think through both short-term and long-term consequences. ? Own the decision. Leadership means taking responsibility—whether the outcome is a win or a lesson. ? Trust your instincts. Data and logic matter, but gut intuition often plays a key role in wise decision-making. Tough decisions are unavoidable—but with the right mindset, you can make them with confidence and clarity. How do you approach difficult decisions? Check the comments to see how we can support you in strengthening your leadership confidence. #Leadership #DecisionMaking #Confidence #SelfAwareness #CherieSilas #TandemCoaching

Today is International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination—a day to reflect, take action, and continue the work toward equity and justice. As you may know, the topic of racial discrimination is very important to me. I grew up in an area where racism was a way of life. I personally rejected this way of thinking because I couldn’t comprehend treating people as less than human based upon the way they look. Being part of the coaching and agile communities, I have met so many people who refuse to abuse other humans and stand up for the rights of others! I want to thank you for taking a stand and for recognizing that all humans have equal intrinsic value. Our differences shouldn’t separate us; they should bring us together. Our differences don’t take away from us; they add to us. It is our differences that make us complete. They make us more creative, more informed, and more intelligent. Thank you to all of you who add a variety of color, language, and culture to my world! #InternationalDayForTheEliminationOfRacialDiscrimination #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #Coaching #Leadership #CherieSilas #TandemCoaching

As Neurodiversity Celebration Week comes to a close, we’ve shared ADHD-friendly strategies every day to help make life work for an ADHD brain—not against it. If you missed any, check out our previous posts from this week! Here’s one last tip: Traditional to-do lists don’t always work. I’d love to be someone who keeps a perfectly organized planner or a beautifully color-coded task list. But the reality? I forget to check them. If I don’t see the list throughout my day, it might as well not exist. What does work for me? Email. ?? I know I’ll check my inbox multiple times a day. ?? I keep my inbox set to show unread messages at the top. ?? My email settings are set so that emails don’t automatically get marked as read—even if I open them. ?? Only when I finish the task do I manually mark emails as read. Unread emails = my real to-do list. It’s the only system that ensures I see what needs to be done, without relying on memory to check another app or notebook. And if something isn’t in my inbox? There’s a good chance it’s getting lost in the void. ADHD-friendly productivity isn’t about trying harder—it’s about finding what actually works for your brain. If you’re ready to build systems that work for you, check the comments to see how ADHD coaching can help. And don’t forget to catch up on our earlier posts from this week! ?? #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #ADHD #Coaching #CherieSilas #TandemCoaching

ADHD brains love to believe they can multitask. Spoiler: they can’t. What actually happens? I start something… then jump to something else… then another thing… until hours (or days) later, I suddenly remember the original task I never finished. This is why limiting work in progress (WIP) is critical for ADHD productivity. Instead of chipping away at 10 things and finishing nothing, I have to be firm with myself: ? One task at a time. ? Minimize distractions. ? Finish before switching gears. Otherwise, I spend my day “working” but end up with a pile of half-done tasks and nothing actually completed. ADHD makes it easy to feel busy without being productive. The key? Sticking to one thing at a time and trusting that my backlog will still be there when I’m ready for it. If your ADHD brain tricks you into thinking you can multitask—but really just pulls you in 10 directions—check the comments to see how ADHD coaching can help you create systems that keep you on track. And stay tuned this week for more ADHD-friendly strategies! ?? #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #ADHD #Coaching #CherieSilas #TandemCoaching

If I don’t see it, it doesn’t exist. No, really. That’s Peekaboo Syndrome—a huge struggle for people with ADHD. If something is out of sight, it might as well have vanished from reality. ?? That candy bar I saved for later? I’ll find it six months from now, completely forgotten. ?? That thing I needed to do? If it’s not staring me in the face, it won’t cross my mind again. ?? That to-do list in an app? Useless—because I have to remember to check it. This is why my ADHD brain thrives on visual cues. If I need to take my meds, they can’t be tucked in a cabinet—I have to put them right in front of me. If I need to remember a task, a post-it in the middle of my screen works better than a neatly organized checklist. It’s not forgetfulness—it’s how ADHD brains process information. And once I stopped shaming myself for not “just remembering” and started setting up my environment to work for me, everything got easier. If ADHD makes things disappear from your mental radar, you’re not alone. Check the comments to see how ADHD coaching can help you build systems that work with your brain—not against it. And stay tuned this week for more ADHD-friendly strategies! ?? #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #ADHD #Coaching #CherieSilas #TandemCoaching

ADHD and overwhelm go hand in hand. It’s not just about too much to do—it’s about too many ways to start. Even the simplest task, like writing an email, can feel impossible. A blank page? It’s a decision-making nightmare. Too many options. Too many ways to begin. And when decision fatigue sets in, the easiest choice is… to do nothing at all. I’ve learned that I don’t need someone to do the work for me—I just need a starting point. A prompt. A sentence. A nudge in the right direction. Once I have that, I’m off and running. That’s exactly how I wrote my book. Michael, my co-author, would interview me, asking the right questions to help pull out the knowledge already in my head. With the right structure in place, the overwhelm disappeared, and the writing flowed. If ADHD makes even small tasks feel like climbing a mountain, you’re not alone. A little direction can make all the difference. Check the comments to see how ADHD coaching can help you create systems that reduce decision fatigue. And if you want to see how the book turned out, we’ve dropped a link for that too! ?? #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #ADHD #Coaching #CherieSilas #TandemCoaching

It’s Neurodiversity Celebration Week! ?? This week, we’re sharing daily ADHD-friendly strategies—the real-life techniques that help manage the challenges that come with an ADHD brain. You might not know this, but I have ADHD. For years, I managed it—until I wasn’t. Eventually, it started drowning me. ADHD isn’t just about being “easily distracted” or “forgetful.” One of the biggest challenges? Forcing myself to do things my brain refuses to engage with. That’s executive dysfunction at work. I know what needs to be done. I want to do it. But when the time comes, my brain just says nope. One technique that helps? Building momentum ahead of time. If I know I have a big task to tackle, I don’t wait until the day of and hope I’m in the right mindset. I tell myself: ?? Next Friday, THIS is the task. Nothing else. I spend the days leading up to it mentally preparing—so when Friday comes, I wake up already committed. No negotiation. No last-minute avoidance. Just execution. It’s not about laziness or a lack of discipline. ADHD brains just work differently. Once I understood that, I stopped fighting it—and started working with it. Check the comments to see how ADHD coaching can help you build systems that actually work for your brain. And stay tuned this week for more ADHD-friendly strategies! ?? #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #ADHD #Coaching #CherieSilas #TandemCoaching
