Tired of you email being spammed, shared, and ending up in breaches? Shield your real email address! So if you don't know there is a feature out there that allows you to use an alias or temp email address for whenever you sign up for things. Apple has had it for a while and it is amazing. Well, Google is starting to catch up and is planning to add it to Gmail at some point in the near future. Several use cases for people out there even if you are not a paranoid person. If your email address is getting spammed and they won't unsubscribe you, just delete it. Or you use a unique email address for each website to know which was breached and then easily fix the issue by quickly changing email addresses. How about an easy way to prevent password spraying attacks if you still insist on using the same password everywhere? We really hope business email accounts get this feature. This would be an amazing way to protect your organization from one of our common attacks, comb breaches for username and passwords. if your employees used shielded email addresses for all websites. It is important to patch internal systems and segment important ones to protect your entire organization from a breach. We have seen Veeam pop up in the news several times for vulnerabilities. Which is good! They are finding issues and fixing them. Which leads us to the next point n this journey. One of the things we have heard cyber executives discuss is how internal vulnerabilities aren't as critical as external. So let us discuss a few attack paths. If a network isn't segmented, an attacker could launch a phishing campaign, gain a foothold on an internal system, and then pivot to exploit Veeam. An attacker could reuse leaked/compromised credentials to access the VPN, and then pivot to Veeam. An attacker could exploit an external system to gain internal access and perform a similar attack. Now what if a ransomware group did this and your backups are now destroyed? Build your infrastructure like a fortress. Protect the things that matter with multiple layers of security.
