2024 was an exceptional year as we advanced gender and nutrition integration in Africa. It was also a testament to what is possible when we work together for a common goal. This was evident during the official launch last month of IGNITE+ in #Kenya and #BurkinaFaso. In 2025, we look forward to partnering with NGOs, the private sector, government bodies, research institutions, and donor partners to expand our locally led technical assistance delivery to agricultural institutions in Burkina Faso, #Ethiopia, Kenya, #Nigeria, and #Tanzania. The year 2024 was impactful for our work—one that reinforced the importance of gender and nutrition integration. It also marked the end of the IGNITE project after six resounding years of success as well as the launch of the IGNITE+ project, which will build on IGNITE and break new ground by scaling up quality #gender and #nutrition technical services. As we embark on 2025, IGNITE+ will serve as a catalyst to building an Africa where agriculture promotes inclusive growth, increased incomes, and better nutrition outcomes for small-scale producers and their households. As the second phase of our Imbewu Development Project in #SouthAfrica kicks off, we're taking a moment to reflect on how far these smallholder farmers have already come. Meet Lizwe Sogoni, a former police officer from the Eastern Cape who turned his passion for farming into a thriving career. Using his pension, Lizwe invested in farming inputs and now successfully grows maize, cabbage, spinach, and beetroot, while also raising livestock. His dedication and success made him the perfect choice to join the Imbewu project as a lead farmer. Lizwe is proud of the farmer cohort he leads, describing them as highly involved and serious about their farming endeavors. ??
