We celebrated our incredible staff, volunteers and donors at our Community Impact Celebration last night with an estimated 400 guests at the beautiful Tampa Theatre! We were proud to honor Clara Reynolds with the 2024 Community Impact Award for her leadership at the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, Bob Gilbertson with the 2024 Red Triangle Award for his 45 years of transformative work with the Tampa YMCA and 11 Volunteers of the Year for their dedication to strengthening children, families and seniors at their local Y. Their commitment continues to make a lasting impact on our community, inspiring us all to reach our full potential. The Tampa YMCA’s Community Impact Celebration is made possible by the generous support of our partners at Regions and BayCare. Congratulations all!

A huge thank you to Ellison Construction for their incredible support of the Tampa YMCA through this year’s Inshore Insanity Fishing Tournament! Thanks to your generosity, the event raised over $125,000, which will directly benefit our Y programs and initiatives, helping to build stronger communities across the Tampa Bay area.

Whether you want to do some holiday shopping or treat yourself to some fabulous fashion, 20% of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Tampa YMCA, specifically supporting children and families at our Sulphur Springs, Central City and Downtown YMCAs. Alex Dalton is our hero! He has celebrated six out of seven birthdays with cancer, had to learn to walk three times - but is now in remission and loving our Thrivers Club! The 12-week youth cancer survivor program for ages 6-17 provides free weekly sessions that are low-impact, help develop coordination and decrease deconditioning (fatigue) resulting from treatment. Our friends at BayCare support the Tampa YMCA's Kids Power Program, which ensures children learn about healthy eating habits and physical activity. Kids Power also helps empower our little community members to build confidence, develop strong foundations for lifelong wellness and improve their physical and emotional well-being, all while having fun and making lasting memories.
