As Crash Responder Safety Week comes to a close, let’s remember this year’s important message: “Responders ahead! Reduce your speed as you proceed.” Drivers, passengers, and all road users play a critical role in ensuring everyone’s safety. By slowing down, moving over, and staying alert near roadside incidents, we can protect emergency personnel and prevent additional crashes. Learn more below about how safety training and initiatives, like the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Traffic Incident Management (TIM) program, are working to save lives and improve coordination at crash scenes.
