Have you signed up for the NASA Space Apps Challenge yet? The hackathon is less than one week away! Here are some of the frequently asked questions we've been getting about Space Apps: 1. What is Space Apps? The NASA Space Apps Challenge is the world's largest global hackathon combining art, technology, science, and storytelling into one competition. 2. Do I need to know how to code? Not at all! There are different challenges for all ages and skill levels. The Space Apps Challenges give coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists, and innovators an opportunity to solve real-world challenges on Earth and in space. 3. How does it work? During the hackathon, participants will team up to tackle challenges that have been submitted by NASA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The challenges provide an opportunity for participants to utilize NASA's free and open data, as well as its Space Agency Partners' space-based data to address these real-world problems. 4. When is it? Kick-Off Party at the Tampa Hackerspace on Friday, October 4th, 6:00 PM. The Challenges start on Saturday, October 5th at 9:00 AM. All submissions must be posted by Sunday, October 6th, 11:59 PM. 5. How much is it? The NASA Space Apps Challenge is FREE! Entering and competing costs you nothing. Did we mention that there are PRIZES?! Stop by for free food, fun, and friendly competition. 6. What's the theme?
