  • The inaugural Tampa Bay Beer Week Golf Classic is in the books, and it was a great one! Fifty-six golfers showed up for this first-ever tournament to spend a gorgeous day at the beautiful Eagles Golf Course in Odessa, Florida. The beers were flowing, the clubs were swinging, and a grand time was had by all. In the end, the winning team took home the trophy and the bragging rights to carry forward until next year! Congratulations to the ProBev /Crooked Thumb Brewery team of Baron Brandstrom, Aaron Lockwood, Kip Kelly, and Alfred Holden!

  • With this beautiful November fall weather, we thought it was the perfect time to try something new that combines a few of our favorite things: outdoor activities, spending time with the community, and, of course, enjoying some great beers. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our first-ever Bicycle Poker Run! We will begin the ride at Bayboro Brewing, then ride to 3 Daughters, Grand Central Brewhouse, Green Bench Brewing, and St. Pete Brewing, before we return to Bayboro! Each brewery will provide one card to add to your poker hand. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A RACE!!! We want everyone to have fun, so e-bikes, scooters, unicycles, etc. are all welcome! $20 per rider. (Tickets can be purchased here -> https://bit.ly/4f5wZ05 ) The funds raised will go to the TBBA/Beverage Industry Operator Brewing Arts Internship Assistance Program. In addition, there will be gift card prizes for the top two poker hands as well as the worst hand. We are asking people to show up at Bayboro to collect their first poker hand card between 11-1pm, and then start their ride. We will do awards at 6:00 at Bayboro. No beer purchase is necessary.

  • Great News! Mastry’s Brewing is Back in Action! After bouncing back from some serious storm damage, our friends at Mastry’s Brewing have officially reopened their doors. Their team worked hard to rebuild the tap system, beer garden, and taproom, and now it’s time to raise a glass and celebrate their return! In fact, we’re so excited to see the new draft wall in action that Sean has decided to step in as a guest beertender from 5-8 PM this Saturday! Swing by, grab a pint, and put Sean to work. Every tip collected during his shift will go directly to the Mastry’s Brewing team. And if you’re hungry, the Mastry’s Kitchen is back in full swing, too. We highly recommend trying the wings—they’re fantastic!?

  • Please join us in celebrating the exciting news about Veronica Danko, owner of The Independent Bar and Cafe. This September, during the world-renowned Belgian Beer Weekend in Brussels, Veronica will be knighted by the Belgian Brewers Guild. Since opening The Independent in 2005, Veronica has been a driving force behind Tampa Bay’s craft beer community. Her relentless efforts to elevate beer culture, along with her broader contributions to the industry, have truly put Tampa Bay on the global beer map. Whether serving on the Tampa Bay Beer Week board, consulting for breweries, or hosting countless events, Veronica has played a vital role in growing our local beer scene and cultivating a deep appreciation for world-class beers, both local and international. This knighthood at the Belgian Beer Weekend—an iconic festival held in Brussels’ Grand-Place—further solidifies her place as a leader in the global beer community. The festival, running from September 6-8, 2024, brings together more than 70 members of Belgium’s brewing elite and features over 500 Belgian beers. Each year, a select few ambassadors are honored with the Knighthood of the Brewer’s Paddle, recognizing their significant contributions to Belgian beer culture. Veronica’s knighthood is a testament to her vision, dedication, and nearly two decades of work promoting craft beer here in Tampa Bay. We couldn’t be prouder to see her receive this prestigious honor. Congratulations, Veronica! We raise our glasses to you and this remarkable achievement. Cheers!

  • One of the many initiatives we've been brewing up has finally come to fruition! In partnership with USF and over 20 Tampa area breweries, we're thrilled to announce that interns from the USF Brewing Arts program will now have paid internships funded by TBBA. These interns will receive hourly pay and insurance coverage for the duration of their internship. Interns will list their top 3 desired breweries, and we will coordinate their placement. This initiative provides students with real-world, hands-on experience in brewing and operations, allowing them to assist in all aspects of production, far beyond simply washing kegs or assisting with packaging. We thank all our Founding Partners, Brewery Partners, and Affiliate Partners for their support, which is crucial to funding and supporting initiatives like this one. Fully funded by the Tampa Bay Brewers Alliance, this program supports our mission to nurture future brewing professionals and strengthen our local brewing community. Cheers to the next generation of brewers! You can check out the full article here - https://lnkd.in/e2sfgAQg
