Bridging Industry and Academia: Sharing Cybersecurity Insights at UW Tech Exploration Lab?? A few of our Wisconsin team members Michael Grall, Zach Brantmeier, and Roy V. had the privilege to present at the UW Tech Exploration Lab. They engaged with bright, enthusiastic students on two important topics: emerging cybersecurity trends impacting businesses and the day-to-day realities and opportunities of working as cybersecurity professionals. The Tech Exploration Lab is an innovative university-industry partnership between the Wisconsin School of Business and Wisconsin Institute for Discovery at UW-Madison. Their mission to "drive innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems through industry engagement and student experimentation with emerging tech" creates the perfect environment for knowledge sharing. It was inspiring to us to share real-world security challenges and opportunities with these talented students. The Lab provides hands-on experiences with cutting-edge technologies including AI, IoT, blockchain, machine learning, and VR/AR. They even offer an AI Sandbox with Google Cloud Platform tools for students to experiment with LLMs, data analytics, and other advanced technologies. At Fulcrum, we understand that "it can be difficult for companies to communicate pain points and collaborate with universities," which is why initiatives like this Lab are so valuable. By participating as industry speakers, we're contributing to the Lab's goal of providing quality interactions between students and professionals while helping develop tomorrow's cybersecurity talent. We're excited to explore other ways to get involved, whether through mentoring, proposing explorations based on real industry challenges, or participating in the UW Tech Exploration Lab’s ongoing events.
