Here’s how the holidays will impact Americans’ health: A survey of 2,000 Americans revealed that 24% are still carrying pounds from the end of 2023; on average, this is almost 10 pounds. Respondents think they’ll gain an average of six additional pounds before changing their calendars to January. Many said they are pausing their healthy habits so they can best enjoy the holiday season. 39% of Americans said that this is their busiest holiday season yet. A survey of 2,000 adults looked at how respondents’ winter social calendars have evolved from last year. Although many are feeling busier than ever, Americans are slowing down compared to last holiday season: on average, respondents will attend three gatherings this year, down from five last year. The survey also found that a third of Americans feel like they’ve been waiting a long time for the holidays this year (35%).
