    Years ago, I surprised my father-in-law with the opportunity to fly a plane. And it was a Masterclass in client onboarding... As a boy growing up in Fogo, Cape Verde, he'd watch from the mountaintop as the planes landed on the dirt runway in the village below. He dreamed of being a pilot one day, so this was one Groupon I simply couldn't pass up! But before he could even touch the controls, the instructor walked us through an exhaustive pre-flight checklist. Every dial, every switch, every system had to be reviewed. Even the smallest oversight could lead to disaster. That experience stuck with me. When we bring on a new client at TalentLink, we don’t just dive in. We focus on the small details first because those are the ones that, if ignored, could cause turbulence down the road. Our pre-flight checklist includes: ? Clarifying expectations so there's instant alignment from day one ? Ensuring access to the right systems and tools so work isn't delayed ? Defining key success metrics so we're all flying toward the same destination ? Mapping out communication cadences so no one is left guessing Just like in aviation, a smooth takeoff makes for a smooth flight. The more we refine our process, the more seamless the experience is for our clients. If your onboarding process feels clunky, maybe it's time to revisit the checklist.
