For those out there in HR and L&D, would you agree with this? I think it might be one of the most underrated benefits from having a great leader is just knowing they care. Prudence Pitter, MBA, SPHR, GPHR tells a great and vulnerable story on The Talent Development Hot Seat podcast this week about a leader who helped her when she was having a really hard time and how that fuels her to teach more leaders to care for their people. For those running leadership development programs, I wonder if this is part of your curriculum. Check out the full interview on the Talent Development Hot Seat podcast now. https://lnkd.in/deePGcFD

What is something that people want from their leaders more than just about anything else? Money and recognition and challenges are important. But something that can mean even more is to just know that they care. It's simple and obvious and yet too many leaders don't show it. It's like they are robots so focused on business results that they forget to be humans. And one of the most powerful things you can do as a leader is recognizing when someone is not having a great day and show them that you care. It was an honor to interview Prudence Pitter, MBA, SPHR, GPHR about her work at AWS and especially about how she has been helping leaders prioritize wellbeing to improve organizational effectiveness. Prudence's own journey into a greater focus on wellbeing started when she was going through a tough time and a leader took the time to check in and see how she was doing. That made a huge difference for Prudence and she's been on a mission to encourage other leaders to make that human connection as well. Check out this week's episode of The Talent Development Hot Seat podcast to hear the rest of the story and guidance on how you can encourage more human connection and wellbeing in your organization. What is the ROI of leading with heart? ?? Most leaders would tell you that we are here to get work done and that leading with love, empathy, and kindness sounds nice, but won't lead to any business results. Well Claude Silver is on a mission to prove that you can absolutely lead with those things and get business results. She has teamed with Gary Vaynerchuk at VaynerX to build what they are calling a "Honey Empire" and they are absolutely getting results. Claude joined us at last year's Talent Development Think Tank conference to share her inspiring thoughts on using emotional optimism to increase engagement and it was one of the most powerful, inspiring talks we've ever heard leading to a long standing ovation. This year Claude is coming back to the Talent Development Think Tank to talk about the ROI of leading with heart. And it's going to be an epic keynote that you just don't want to miss. Listen to The Talent Development Hot Seat podcast this week to hear a recording from Claude's keynote last year (we have never published this before and I'm excited to share it on the podcast this week) and then head to our website and get your tickets for this year's conference in Orlando. It's going to be highly valuable with great connections, speakers, and conversations to help you achieve more success in 2025 and beyond. See you in Orlando!
