Today we flashback to Pen-y-Bryn's Taith journey to Florida! Ysgol Pen y Bryn is a special school based in Swansea, who took pupils and staff on a Taith funded learning exchange to Florida. During their time there, they undertook a range of activities from meeting pupils and taking part in lessons at Hagerty High, to learning about space exploration with NASA. For the pupils at Ysgol Pen y Bryn, this was an opportunity to not only broaden their world view, but to build foundational skills to help them in the future. Thank you to the staff and pupils at Pen y Bryn for sharing their journey with us! View the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/eFjwe5NF

Heddiw rydyn ni'n hel atgofion am Taith Pen-y-Bryn i Florida! Mae Ysgol Pen y Bryn yn ysgol arbennig yn Abertawe, a aeth a disgyblion a staff ar daith gyfnewid ddysgu a ariannwyd gan Taith i Florida. Yn ystod eu hamser yno, buont yn ymgymryd ag amrywiaeth o weithgareddau, o gwrdd a disgyblion a chymryd rhan mewn gwersi yn Ysgol Uwchradd Hagerty, i ddysgu am archwilio’r gofod gyda NASA. I ddisgyblion Ysgol Pen y Bryn, roedd hwn yn gyfle nid yn unig i ehangu eu byd-olwg, ond i ddatblygu sgiliau sylfaen i’w helpu yn y dyfodol. Diolch i staff a disgyblion Pen y Bryn am rannu eu taith gyda ni! Gweler yr astudiaeth achos lawn yma: https://lnkd.in/edTAMqSD

Thanks to everyone who participated in this evenings Scottish Parliament Cross-Party Group on Europe. Tonight's meeting chaired by Patrick Harvie MSP explored the impact of Scotland’s loss of Erasmus+ thanks to valuable contributions from Elise and Richard Tallaron from LFEE and Lesley Atkins, Director of International School Partnerships Scotland. We were also joined by representatives of Taith including Susana Galván Hernández and Chair Kirsty Williams. Taith’s impressive efforts to increase mobility opportunities for youth and community groups demonstrate what is possible with a committed and innovative approach. While the Scottish Government has now introduced a test scheme for international mobility, it is currently limited to colleges and universities. Sadly, schools, youth, and community groups—often those most excluded from such opportunities but who stand to benefit the most—are left out. My take away from the discussions is that we should be ambitious to do better and grasp the opportunity to learn from Wales and broaden access to international mobility, learning and exchange on a level playing field. As the secretary of the group I know its success relies on active involvement so thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation—your insights and expertise are greatly appreciated. Our next meeting will take place in February, focusing on the environment and agriculture. If you’re interested in joining the CPG or contributing to the discussion, please don’t hesitate to get in touch or visit our webpage on the Parliament's website here: https://lnkd.in/eM-z49Ad
