The Association for International Credential Evaluation Professionals is an international professional association. The single purpose of TAICEP is to support and serve international credential evaluation professionals. The primary goals of TAICEP are to define and promote the profession; develop and promote common standards; advocate for the profession; conduct research and disseminate information that supports the profession; identify and develop theories, methodologies and best practices used in international credential evaluation; obtain appropriate official recognition for the association; promote cooperation with other groups involved in international education; and identify and promote professional development, training, and other educational opportunities. The core operational principles of TAICEP are collaboration, volunteerism, inclusiveness, and international orientation. The TAICEP standards development principles are openness, balance, transparency, consensus, and process. Interested in membership or working with TAICEP?     TAICEP's Professional Development Committee is pleased to announce our upcoming TAICEP At Your Desk Webinar Webinar. Date: Thursday, February 20, 2025, 10:30 to 11:30 AM US Eastern/4:30-5:30 PM CET Title: Amala Education, Refugees/Displaced Persons, and Their Accredited Global Secondary Diploma Description: A number of organizations are working to provide educational opportunities to refugees and other displaced persons. Amala Education has developed schools and programs leading to formal educational credentials as well as courses in leadership, peace-building, and other areas. They are an organization with CIS and NEASC accreditation, and their graduates are looking to go on to further education. The presenters will discuss their credentials, particularly the Global Secondary Diploma. Evaluating this diploma and its transcript may prove challenging to credential evaluators; the presenters will share examples and discuss with attendees ways to evaluate it.     Annual Conference | Call for Proposals The TAICEP Conference and Professional Development Committees invite you to share your expertise at the 2025 TAICEP Conference, which will take place October 20–23, 2025, in Cavtat, Croatia. The deadline for submitting workshop and session proposals is fast approaching: February 16, 2025 Whether you work at a higher education institution, independent agency, ENIC/NARIC office, government ministry, licensing authority, examination board, or elsewhere, this is your opportunity to contribute to the growth and future of our field. This year's theme, Shaping Our Future: Knowledge, Skills, Success, highlights the evolving landscape of credential evaluation and invites reflection, innovation, and collaboration. Proposals from all backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome. Topics may include, but are not limited to: ? Challenges and solutions for recent disruptions in global education systems ? Methodology and evaluation practices ? Country education systems and credential reviews ? Quality assurance measures ? Trends in international education and credential evaluation ? Evaluating this diploma and its transcript may prove challenging to credential evaluators; the presenters will share examples and discuss with attendees ways to evaluate it. ????????????????????: Polly Akhurst is the Co-founder and Co-Executive Director of Amala, a social innovation organisation which aims to transform lives through education for refugees and displaced youth. Amala created the first accredited global secondary education programme for out-of-school displaced youth and offers courses in Ethical Leadership, Social Entrepreneurship, and Peace-building, serving over 4,000 students to date. Polly’s background is in international education, having previously worked for the UWC (United World College) group of schools and she is an alumna of UWC Atlantic. Lizzie Bray is the Director of Education Programmes at Amala. After more than 25 years as a teacher and educational leader at United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) in Singapore, Lizzie returned to Canada where she lives on the windy coastline of Nova Scotia.
