Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment for Veterans. Tactical Recovery provides a culturally-competent and trauma-informed environment, tailoring care for each individual using evidence-based practices proven to promote recovery among Veterans and first responders. While alcohol and drug addiction can affect anyone, military and first responder communities are especially at risk for developing a substance use disorder. Through our specialized treatment program, individuals can recover from alcoholism and drug addiction, while building a solid foundation for lasting freedom. Active military, Veterans, and first responders all face extreme stress both on duty and off. Long-lasting effects from these roles can include depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more. Our trauma-informed program meets the needs of this population completely, providing evidence-based treatment to assist individuals’ recovery.

#MentalHealthTip Managing stress during this time of year can be challenging, especially with the added focus around elections and current events. Social pressures, family dynamics, and a constant stream of information can easily become overwhelming. Here are a few ways to help you stay calm and grounded: ? Set Boundaries: It’s okay to step away from conversations or environments that feel too stressful. Prioritize your peace. ? Stay Informed, Not Overwhelmed: Limit news and social media intake. Stay aware without letting updates consume your day. ? Practice Self-Care: Make time for activities that recharge you—whether it’s a walk, meditation, or a quiet moment to yourself. Remember, taking care of your mental health is essential. We’re here to provide the compassionate, individualized support you need. #MentalHealthMatters #YouAreNotAlone #StressRelief

Veteran Buddy Checks aim to enhance peer-to-peer connections, improve mental health, and increase access to VA and non-VA resources. Take the pledge–take the training–find buddies. Take the training before reaching out and talking to your buddies. The training helps you recognize signs of distress and educates you on available resources you can recommend if needed. https://lnkd.in/epyREwUT

Many of your friends may be doing well, but others may need help from the community or VA in some way. Check in on your buddies and connect them to useful resources, such as VA.gov or 1-800-MyVA411 (1-800-698-2411). Veteran Buddy Checks encourage Veterans to connect or reconnect with their Veteran friends–just to check in. As part of the effort, Veteran Buddy Check Week, which takes place October 21 – 25, 2024, builds on the success of the American Legion’s Buddy Check program and the Veteran Wellness Alliance’s Get Involved program.
