TACT (Teaching the Autism Community Trades) is a Denver-based nonprofit organization founded to encourage and empower the full spectrum of individuals with autism through skilled trades education and employment. Addressing the needs of the ASD community which experiences a 90% unemployment rate, TACT offers a strengths-based program developed specifically to provide training and create meaningful employment opportunities that are personally fulfilling to each individual student. For the autism community, TACT creates a future full of purpose and promise. The Autism community is the highest unemployment sector in the US, currently at 90%. TACT’s programs lead to employable jobs + lasting careers that are personally fulfilling and suited to each individual’s strengths. We envision a world where neurodiversity is not only embraced but inherently valued. A world where the full spectrum of the autism community can contribute their talents and gifts and find personal fulfillment.

Fantastic Friday at TACT – Gratitude & Guidance for Our Community? When questions about estate planning and financial security weigh on the hearts of caregivers, TACT steps up—because peace of mind is priceless. Last night, TACT had the incredible privilege of hosting Jill Bischoff of Edward Jones and Gentry Fyrwald Schaab, Legal Estate Planner, two remarkable women dedicated to empowering families. Through their expertise, they provided reassurance, clarity, and a path forward for the parents and caregivers who joined us in person and online. This could not have been possible without the dedication and support of TACT’s own Samantha Pickren, RBT, whose hard work and commitment to our families helped make this event a success. I had a truly exciting experience earlier with the Women in Manufacturing Colorado group at TACT - Teaching the Autism Community Trades ! Liam Murphy gave us a tour of their facility and talked about the impact they're having within the community, such as: ?? 84% Job placement ?? 95% Job retention over 10 YEARS ?? 90% Proficiency rate These stats are incredible! As a mom to a son with autism, I often think about the strong support systems available for children but the noticeable gaps that exist in college and beyond. He has an incredible mind, full of creativity and ingenuity, and he deserves an environment that nurtures his potential - All of these kids (and adults) do! ?? Neurodiversity in the workplace is something it seems many companies talk about in the hiring process, but then the commitment stops there. What we need are more than just half-hearted efforts to include very skilled and talented workers into our companies. ?? REALLY foster an environment where they can thrive: Build it into performance management, understand their motivations and talents, give interesting career path opportunities, prioritize continuing education, incorporate different management styles in leadership training - All the things! Because embedding it in our culture will help create workplaces where everyone can truly belong and do their best work, which creates a better society and future for all of us. ?? THANK YOU Liam and your team - For all of the amazing things that you're doing with your programs, advocacy for your graduates, the community you've built, and your passion for continuous growth and development to touch more lives. Our Rocky Mountain Women of Weifield group enjoyed an amazing morning of coffee & connection with TACT leadership & members of WiM (Women in Manufacturing) Colorado at the TACT - Teaching the Autism Community Trades' 'Women in Trades - Women in Power' Networking event this morning! TACT's mission is to build futures & careers for the entire Autism community through its best-in-class training programs in automotive, manufacturing, electrical/construction, culinary & more! The organization works to build relationships with area employers so that once a client graduates from its program - he/she has opportunities awaiting in various potential places of business. 27 TACT clients graduated from the program last year -- and together with his team, Liam Murphy, TACT Director of Development, is currently working to expand TACT's relationships to more & more employers in Colorado as well as open other locations in New York & Texas -- and beyond, in the coming years.
