On November 19, 2024, the City of Tacoma of Tacoma, led by Council Member Kiara Daniels, recognized small business representatives Jan Parker of Jan Parker Cookery and Dr. Luciano Garofalo, Link Community Clinic, in honor of Small Business Saturday. “I decided to open this company because I got tired of seeing notary fraud and people taking advantage of Latino, immigrant, and low-income communities,” says Yadira Morales, owner of Impacto Notaria & Multiservicios. “Everyone deserves access to honest legal resources and guidance they can trust.” Impacto Notaria & Multiservicios celebrated its grand re-launch and anniversary in early November alongside the Chamber. The event brought together family, friends, partners, community members, and local leaders, including Tacoma City Councilmember Olgy Diaz and Mi Centro, a Chamber member-partner. Owner Yadira Morales chose November 2, 2023, as her original opening day for a deeply personal reason: Día de Muertos (The Day of the Dead), a meaningful holiday that honors her family’s traditions. Rooted in these values, Morales’s new office is a perfect reflection of her journey. Its walls are adorned with handmade art from Mexico, alongside personal touches like Harry Potter memorabilia, showcasing her creative spirit. The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber is pleased to welcome what will be an end to the 7-week work stoppage for more than 30,000 Boeing workers as they vote to ratify an unprecedented contract. A contract that aims to create economic prosperity, opportunity, and stability for generations. We understand that the last few weeks have been challenging for so many in our community, including small business suppliers, airlines, and various partners who are each connected through a globally allied economy. The same economy that is driven, in no small part, by aerospace, manufacturing, and travel. We anticipate continuing our advocacy and working relationships with anchor employers, like Boeing, and workers across Washington State to ensure our local economy continues to drive prosperity for all.
