Our Why...

I used to work with Evangelist Terlin Ramirez. She always walked around with a smile on her face, greeting everyone with joy. It wasn't until I sat with her during this interview did I realize the pain she was suffering behind that smile. When you hear her story, your heart will ache for the sadness, loneliness, and fear she had to endure. But don't be fooled. Just because you didn't grow up with the exact same circumstances, it doesn't mean we escape the challenges she faced. ***Don't think "I didn't grow up like that so what she is saying doesn't apply" *** Don't think "My daughter is different. This won't ever happen to her" The reality is any of this can happen to any of us. Including our daughters. Main Takeaways? ** Our educational system continues to fail our kids, so we have to take charge of what our teen girls learn about their bodies and rights. ** As parents, WE have to break the cycle.
