March is Endometriosis Awareness Month! ?? ?? What is endometriosis? Endometriosis is a condition where cells similar to the lining of your womb grow in other parts of your body. These cells react to your menstrual cycle, causing inflammation, pain, and sometimes scarring. The exact cause is still unknown, but genetics, hormones, immune issues, and environmental factors may all play a role. ?? Common symptoms: ? Painful periods (severe cramping, disrupting daily life) ? Chronic pelvic pain throughout your cycle ? Heavy menstrual bleeding or spotting between periods ? Pain during or after intimacy ? Painful bowel movements or urination, especially during periods ? Fatigue, exhaustion, and abdominal bloating ? Difficulty conceiving Symptoms vary widely between women from severe to none. ?? Getting diagnosed: Unfortunately, endometriosis is still underdiagnosed. But, it might involve: ? A detailed discussion with your GP ? Physical examination (including a pelvic/internal exam) ? Blood tests ? Ultrasound scans (pelvic or vaginal) ? Laparoscopy (a minor surgery using a small camera) ?? Managing endometriosis: There's currently no known cure, but treatment options can help relieve symptoms: ?? Pain relief medications (paracetamol, ibuprofen) ?? Hormonal treatments (combined contraceptive pills, hormonal coils, or injections) ?? Surgery (laparoscopy) to remove endometrial tissue or ovarian cysts ?? Specialist services to manage severe cases or fertility concerns ?? Emotional support for fatigue, pain management, mental health, and fertility challenges ?? Islamic guidance: Irregular bleeding may qualify a person as ma?dhūr (excused) under Islamic law. If so, you can continue your religious obligations, like prayer & fasting. And, wudū? remains valid throughout a prayer time unless another factor invalidates it ???? If you experience prolonged spotting or irregular bleeding, it's important to seek personalised advice from a knowledgeable scholar ? You don’t have to navigate endometriosis alone. If you're experiencing symptoms affecting your daily life, please seek support. You deserve support, compassion, and relief! ?? Learn more about women's health & faith at our knowledge hub!

?? When was the last time you checked in on your neighbours? In Islam, sisterhood and community care go hand-in-hand, and our neighbours hold a special place. Here are just a few incredible reasons why: ?? It strengthens bonds of sisterhood: Gentleness and consideration reduce tensions, prevent conflicts, and create a harmonious, peaceful environment. Even small acts, like sharing food or greeting warmly, nurture mutual respect ?? It builds a safe, supportive community: Whether you're a new mum needing support, a student far from home, or someone navigating life’s trials, neighbours can become your strongest support network. Your kindness creates a community where each woman feels seen, supported, and safe ?? It’s beloved to Allah: Allah loves those who treat neighbours kindly. The Prophet ? said, “The best neighbour in the sight of Allah is the one who is best to their neighbours.” (Tirmidhī) ?? It fosters empathy and compassion: As women, we often carry unseen burdens, emotional, mental, and physical. Empathy grows when we genuinely care for one another. Our Prophet ? taught, “He isn't a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbour is hungry” (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad) ?? It creates a positive image of Islam: Our kindness to neighbours can break stereotypes, showcasing Islam’s true beauty through genuine acts of care. Good character is da'wah in action. ? Practical ideas to begin today: ? Smile and greet warmly: A smile is sunnah and can brighten anyone’s day ? Share meals: Whether it's homemade or store-bought, sharing strengthens bonds ? Offer help: Knock on her door, send a message, or offer to babysit when she needs rest ? Exchange kindness: If your neighbour offers something, graciously accept it, even if it's small. “None of you should look down upon the gift sent by her female neighbour even if it were the trotters of the sheep.” (Bukhārī) ? Celebrate together: Invite neighbours to share special occasions, especially the elderly! ? Resolve conflicts gently: Show patience, understanding, and forgiveness, it's healing for both hearts ???? May Allah grant us meaningful friendships and sisterhoods that uplift and strengthen each other!

The way we speak to ourselves shapes our resilience. Positive affirmations can help reframe negative thoughts, reduce stress, and strengthen emotional well-being, especially during menstruation or challenging times. Here are some affirmations to remind yourself of your strength: ? I am resilient and capable of far more than I realise. ? I am grateful for my strength and the people who support me. ? My body is strong and resilient, even when I need rest. ? I see light at the end of this tunnel. True resilience is found in seeking strength from Allah ?. The Qur?ān is “the rope of Allah” - whoever holds onto it will be guided. We encourage you to connect with Allah’s Names and reflect on how He speaks to us in the Qur?ān. Try to: ? Understand the meaning of each verse ? Observe overarching themes such as Allah’s mercy, justice, and wisdom ? Recognise lessons from past nations and Prophets ? Draw parallels across the Qur?ān to see how Allah’s guidance aligns with life’s trials ? Engage in introspection, focusing on yourself internally and turning to the Qur?ān for solutions Here are some powerful ayāt to ponder on: ?? "It is You we worship and You we ask for help" (1:5) ?? "So remember Me; I will remember you…" (2:152) ?? “Those who say, when afflicted with a calamity, ‘We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return” (2:156). ?? "Surely Allah is Ever Gracious and Most Merciful to humanity." (2:143) ?? "When My servants ask you about Me, I am near. I respond to those who call Me, so let them respond with obedience to Me, so that they may be guided." (2:186) ?? “Allah is the Guardian of the believers: He brings them out of the depths of darkness and into the light…” (2:257). ?? “This is the Day when [only] the faithful will benefit from their faithfulness. Theirs are Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there for ever and ever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. That is the ultimate triumph.” (5:119). ??? As women, we often carry so much - responsibilities, expectations, unseen struggles - while constantly seeking barakah in our time, energy, and health. But have we taken a moment to absorb the answered prayer we're currently living in? ???? The Prophet ? reminded us that true wealth is found in the simple blessings of safety, well-being, and sustenance. So, let’s talk about some forms of rizq: ?? Faith (īmān): īmān keeps us steady in uncertain times. It protects the heart from despair and nurtures trust in Allah. “Whoever believes in Allah, He will guide his heart.” (Qur’ān 64:11) ?? Health: The Prophet ? said, “There are two blessings that many people waste: health and free time” (Bukhārī). Prioritising our well-being through professional support, proper rest, mindful nourishment and self-care is part of gratitude. Our bodies are an amānah, and caring for them is an act of worship ?? Intelligence & emotion: Allah has given each of us a mind and heart. How we nurture them, the wisdom we seek, and the depth of empathy we cultivate, all shape us. Use them with mercy and purpose! ?? Supportive relationships: The Prophet ? said, “The best of you are those who are best to their families.” (Ibn Mājah) A kind friend, a caring sister, a loving spouse, a parent who makes space for you - these are all rizq. Invest in meaningful connections and seek companionship that strengthens your dīn ?? Security: In a world where many are facing injustice and genocide, feeling safe in our homes and communities is a privilege and a provision from Allah. True security is the heart’s trust in His protection. ?? Contentment: At the heart of all provision is contentment. The Prophet ? said, “Richness is not in the abundance of possessions, but richness is the richness of the soul.” (Bukhārī). Check out our recent post on a du'a for contentment! May Allah grant us contentment with the provision He has given us, bless it abundantly, and replace anything we have missed out on with that which is better for us. May He always grant us ease in what is written for us and strengthen our hearts with gratitude and trust in His perfect wisdom ???? ???? What kind of rizq are you grateful for today?
