Honoring My Amazing Dad With a heavy yet grateful heart, I share the passing of my incredible Dad at the age of 87. His spirit has transitioned to be with his Heavenly Father, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering strength. For over 64 beautiful years, Dad and Mom shared a marriage built on faith, love, and devotion. Mom remained by Dad’s side with an abundance of joy through every season of life, including his peaceful passing at home. Their bond was a testament to the power of commitment and the beauty of a life well-lived together. Dad played a major role in shaping me into the man I am today. Dad’s keen common sense wisdom, integrity, and kindness influenced not only my life but also the lives of so many who had the privilege of knowing him. He led by example—demonstrating the power of hard work, humility, and an unshakable faith in God. We take comfort knowing with confidence that Dad is now at peace, welcomed into eternity with open arms. Dad’s legacy will continue to inspire, and his impact will live on through the values he instilled in all of us. Thank you, Dad, for everything. While your physical presence will be missed, the Fruits of the Spirit you poured into me will forever remain in my heart. Rest in peace Dad. We will celebrate Dad on Saturday, February 22 beginning at 11:00 AM at the Church of Christ located at 800 Joseph E. Boone Blvd. Public viewing will occur from 3:00-7:00 PM on Friday February 21 at the Willie Watkins Funeral Home located at 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. Dad will late in state in the Sanctuary of the Church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30.
