: We have exciting news... T-ATP is now a partner with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS)! CMS is among the top 20 public schools in the country in terms of the number of students it serves. Currently, CMS serves over 140K K-12 students. We can't wait to #eradicatingthedigitaldivideonestudentatatime by introducing our services and curriculum and exposing these to #cybersecurityeducation and #digitalliteracy. : Time flies when having fun! This weekend, the accelerators GRADUATED. We did something different with this cohort by having our workshops on Saturday afternoons and incorporating #python and #computerscience topics into our curriculum. We're so proud of our accelerators who volunteered their Saturday afternoons to learn about #cybersecurity and #digitalliteracy! When creating our curriculum, we want to ensure it aligns with current education policy in the K-12 space regarding #tech and #cybersecurity. For instance, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has added a computer science graduation requirement for all incoming 9th-grade students starting in the 2024-2025 school year. We want to ensure that our accelerators are ready and have the knowledge to pass this requirement when they encounter it at their schools. Finally, we want to thank our partners - the #BestBuyTeenTechCenter at the #McCroreyYMCA for hosting us and E2D - Eliminate the Digital Divide — for providing the Microsoft Surface Go laptops. The accelerators LOVE them! : An act in three parts... The accelerators received a telegram stating that the villain - Bugs V on #PythonIsland, was attaching all the devices on the island. To defeat Bug V, the accelerators had to use their Python skills—functions, conditional statements, loops (for and while), printing, and getting user input. We can report that the accelerators successfully defeated Bugs V! Four accelerators received gift cards ranging from $25 to $100. But all of the accelerators played a crucial part in defeating Bugs V. What's next for the accelerators?
