New Podcast: Changing the Future of Women’s Heart Care with Dr. Simin Gharib Lee, CEO, Systole Health When I first met Dr. Simin Gharib Lee, I had no idea how much it would change the way I think about my own heart health. Dr. Lee is a cardiologist and innovative entrepreneur. As Co-Founder of Systole Health with Lauren McConnell, she’s giving women the education, support, and tools to take charge of their heart health. We talk about how her care and Systole Health changed my blood pressure. ?? Listen Now: https://lnkd.in/gXZ-8prC 3 Critical Things Every Woman Needs to Know About Heart Health ?? 1. Sleep Apnea Could Be Harming Your Heart Do you snore? Wake up tired? Get morning headaches? Sleep apnea increases blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, and heart attack risk. “One of the first things I ask my patients is, ‘Do you snore?’ Sleep apnea is a hidden driver of high blood pressure and heart disease that too many women don’t know about.” – Dr. Simin Gharib Lee ?? 2. Group Coaching is a Game Changer Focused care, coaching and supportive community. Having a group means you’re not navigating heart disease alone. ? 3. Know Your Blood Pressure Doctors often say 130s/80s is fine—it’s not. 120/80 is the goal. Even small increases raise the risk of heart disease and stroke. Systole Health is a game changer for women's heart care. Thank you, Dr. Simin Gharib Lee, for encouraging women to learn about heart disease and gratitude to Elaine Williams, M.A. and Lauren McConnell for taking great care of all the female heart patients! Special thanks to Priya Bathija for introducing us! ?? Tag a woman you care about and share this episode—let’s help all women improve their heart health! HER HEALTHX Karla S. Bryant (Karla S. Most patient testimonials feel…well, fake. Stock photos, generic praise, or a two-sentence quote that could have been written by ChatGPT. Not these. At Systole Health, we’re building something different—and the proof is in the women who’ve actually lived it. These are real stories, from real patients, told in their own words. We filmed and edited these ourselves—not for marketing fluff, but because these women wanted to share how Systole changed the way they experience their health. Engagement like this isn’t just great for patients—it’s great for business. Health systems and providers don’t just need scale. They need retention. They need outcomes. They need patients who actually want to show up and participate in their care. That’s what we do. And this is what it looks like. Watch their stories. Hear their voices. See why women don’t just join Systole Health—they stay. ?? https://lnkd.in/ez6wZ9uV ?? Shout-out to The Company Advice for infusing every page of our site with beauty and brand. Run - don't walk - their way if you want some web design magic, too.

Today, MedCity News spotlighted Systole Health and our mission to change that. Women make up 51% of the population but receive just a fraction of the cardiovascular care they need. By the time many women get treatment for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or metabolic dysfunction, they’ve already had a heart attack or developed heart failure. Why? ? A fragmented system that doesn’t prioritize prevention ? Not enough cardiologists to meet demand ? Women’s symptoms dismissed or underdiagnosed Systole was built to solve this problem at scale. We provide physician-led, group virtual visits for women at risk of or recovering from heart disease—giving them time, access, education, and a community of support. ?? Patient Wins Worth Celebrating This Heart Month! One of the most rewarding parts of what we do at Systole Health is seeing the real, lasting impact of support, education, and community in our patients' lives. The message below from one of our program participants is such a beautiful reminder of why heart health isn’t just about numbers, it’s about empowerment, sustainability, and feeling good in your body! During Heart Month, we’re reminded that small, consistent changes add up to big results and not just in weight loss, but in lowering blood pressure, improving cholesterol, and reducing cardiovascular risk. More importantly, it’s about helping women take control of their health in a way that’s freeing, not restrictive. We focus on care that blends medical guidance, lifestyle coaching, and a supportive community because better heart health shouldn’t feel like punishment. It should feel like progress. Heart Month is the perfect time to check in with yourself.??? #HeartMonth #HeartHealth #WomenInHealth #LifestyleMedicine #SystoleHealth #PreventativeCare #PatientWins

“If a company doesn’t have physician leadership, I just don’t talk to them.” ?? That’s what a major health system leader told me at ViVE this week. And after walking the expo floor, my co-founder Lauren McConnell and I get it. There were panels on AI, booths selling AI, deals being made around AI—but almost none of them featured practicing physicians who actually understand how these tools hit the front lines. ?? ?????? ???????? ???????????????????? ??????’?? ?????? ????????. It’s making it fit into an overburdened, efficiency-starved system. ?? ???????????? ?????????????? ????????’?? ???????????????????? ???? ?????? ???? ??????????. They’re struggling with access. Double-booked schedules. 15-minute follow-ups. 30-minute new visits. And tech that doesn’t integrate makes this worse, not better. ?? ?????????????????????????? ???? ?????? ??????????. If a solution can’t fit into existing workflows—or better yet, reduce friction—it won’t survive. At Systole Health, we think about scale differently. We aren’t adding noise. We’re making care work. And health systems are looking for partners who get it. AI is exciting. But without deep (real) clinical leadership, it’s just another tool looking for a problem. #ViVE2025 #HealthTech #AIinHealthcare #DigitalHealth #Healthcare

?? The heart health gap: why women are 'under-treated' and 'overlooked' in cardiovascular care In September 2024, several world-leading experts writing in the?BMJ?warned that even though heart disease remains the biggest killer of women under 50, they continue to be 'under-diagnosed, under-treated and under-represented in cardiovascular research'. Lack of awareness and education, as well as structural and financial barriers are all factors preventing women from accessing care.?But even when women are armed with the right information and have access to services, they often struggle to be taken seriously. During the American Heart Association's American Heart Month,?Femtech World?spoke to Harvard-trained cardiologist and CEO of Systole Health, Dr Simin Gharib Lee, about the challenges women face in accessing appropriate cardiovascular care. ?? Lee says: “[Women] get fewer diagnostic tests, fewer interventions and less aggressive medical therapy. These gaps aren’t just a failure in awareness—they’re a failure in how we train, diagnose, and treat cardiovascular disease in women.” Link to full interview in comments.
