Great food starts with great ingredients, and Bare Beans is proof of that. Founded by Michelle Huff in 2018, this woman-owned business is redefining convenience with just two ingredients—beans and water. Every batch is kettle-cooked to perfection, pesticide-free, and non-GMO, staying true to Michelle’s belief: "It’s up to you what you put in your food, not us." Located within 10 miles from Michelle’s family farm in Idaho, Bare Beans is not only committed to clean eating but also to empowering women. With a predominantly women-staffed team, the company has been growing since opening its facility in 2021, providing high-quality black, garbanzo, red, pinto, and navy beans to kitchens everywhere. Through our Diverse Supplier Program, we’re proud to support Michelle’s vision and the impact of women-owned businesses in the food industry. This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the entrepreneurs shaping the future—one simple, wholesome ingredient at a time. #WomensHistoryMonth #BareBeans #DiverseSupplier

This week in our 'Women in Industry' series we're shining a light on Anna Dominey, Managing Director of The Coconut Collab - the UK's second biggest dairy-free yoghurt brand and the leading dairy-free desserts brand. Here, she leads a team of 23, over 70% of whom are women. ??? Anna has spent most of her career in FMCG and retail, having started out on the graduate scheme at Cadbury. She also spent four years at Bain & Company as a strategy consultant. Anna worked in grocery in both the UK (Sainsbury's) and Australia (Coles), before making a career shift to smaller, scale-up brands. She led the expansion of what is now the UK's number one kombucha brand, Remedy, before taking the helm at The Coconut Collab 18 months ago. As part of the positive IMPACT of women at Sysco, last Tuesday we had visitors from our leadership team Jenny Johnson and Michelle Hunter, who shared with us their vision for the future of the site and a bit about their history at Sysco. In the context of celebrating International Women's Day, yesterday we celebrated the International Women's Day at Sysco Costa Rica by hosting a visit from an external speaker. We had an inspiring talk with Cristina Nassar, who shared her life story with us, helping us reflect and think about resilience and how to rise again. Additionally, we took this important opportunity to recognize Melissa Arce Montero for her contributions to Sysco. With her collaboration skills and leadership, she has stood out at the site and made a significant IMPACT in Technology. She always takes the initiative to help, seeks equity, and encourages everyone to have the same opportunities to learn. Thank you so much to the entire IMPACT team: Maria Valverde Susana Valverde Keylin Rodríguez Nájera Lourdes Fonseca Villalobos Bryan Fonseca Jean Urizar Oyarce Pablo Castro for this amazing activity and many thanks to all the Sysco Lovers who joined us at this important event.
