A career-best 11-point effort from?Joey Spallina?helped lead the No.10/No. 10 Syracuse men's lacrosse team to a 16-12 victory against No. 20/No. 18 Colgate on Saturday afternoon inside the JMA Wireless Dome. Spallina and?Owen Hiltz?became the 18th?and 19th?players in program history to reach 200 career points thanks to a Spallina-assisted Hiltz goal in the first quarter. Spallina tied Tim O'Hara for the second-fastest player in program history to reach the milestone, recording five goals and six assists in his 42nd?career game. Hiltz completed the mark in 54 career games, notching three goals and two assists to tie Paul Gait for the 12th-fastest to 200 points. It's Game Day! No. 9/8 Syracuse goes for its third-straight win when it hosts No. 20/21 Notre Dame in the JMA Wireless Dome today at noon! Syracuse commit Camdyn Nelson of New Canaan, Conn., was named the Gatorade Connecticut Girls Basketball Player of the Year in Connecticut! A senior standout at St. Luke's School, Nelson helped the Storm (15-11) to an appearance in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class B championship game this past season. She averaged 17.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game while shooting 39 percent from three-point range. After an offensively-slow first quarter, the tenth-ranked Syracuse University men's lacrosse team returned to form to beat Manhattan 18-2 Tuesday night in the JMA Wireless Dome. Syracuse (6-2) recorded 10 different goal scorers in the contest, led by?Trey Deere?with four. The Orange took 71 shots in the contest, the first time eclipsing the 70-shot mark since 1997 (72, vs. Hobart).?Joey Spallina?led in assists, dishing out four and adding two goals to raise his career points total to 199.?Owen Hiltz?recorded one assist in the contest, now sitting two points away from possessing 200 career points. Sophomore?Joely Caramelli?scored a career-high three goals and recorded a personal-best 10 draw controls to lead the No. 8/6 Syracuse women's lacrosse team to a 17-11 victory against Pitt last Saturday.
