Synopsys Optical Solutions, formerly Optical Research Associates (ORA), is one of the world’s leading developers of optical design and analysis tools -- CODE V? imaging design software and LightTools? illumination design software. The group is also an independent supplier of optical systems design services, with more than 5,000 completed projects in imaging, illumination and optical systems engineering. In May 2012, Synopsys acquired RSoft Design Group, expanding the company’s portfolio of optical design and analysis software products. In addition to design software, Brandenburg offers LucidDrive for night driving simulation that generates almost photorealistic lighting scenes in real time. Designers use it to quickly and accurately evaluate beam patterns of vehicle headlamps prior to expensive fabrication and testing.     We are 5 days away from the Optical Solutions User Conference on Wednesday, November 20th! There is still time to register to attend in-person or virtually! Professor Yuzuru Takashima from The University of Arizona will be presenting a talk titled “Approach to Optical Engineering Education: 4 Years in the School of Photonics, University of Arizona” 2. Katie Schwertz from Edmund Optics will be featured in a talk titled “ImSym Performance Modeling of an Edmund Optics Imaging System with Laboratory Hardware Measurements” Professor Takashima’s talk will discuss how universities in the United States are preparing students to handle careers as optical engineers. Katie’s talk will introduce you to ImSym - Imaging System Simulator show how you can use ImSym to model real systems using an example from Edmund Optics.
