Making event networking actually work I Transforming random encounters into hot leads -> 94% Meeting Show-Up Rate I 30% Increase in Meaningful Connections I Reduced Cost Per Lead from $112 to $58

Networking is good when it doesn't feel like networking. I used to be the person hiding in the corner at events. Being the loudest or most charismatic person in the room was never my goal. I always wanted to have thoughtful conversations. And that was difficult to start for me. So, as a good engineer, I developed a system for myself: 1) Research attendees beforehand 2) Prepare specific questions for people I want to meet 3) Set a realistic goal (just 3 quality conversations) It's simple. And this approach transformed my event experience. I was focusing on quality over quantity. I built relationships that became the foundation of my business. The system worked so well that I started to share my "secrets" with others. Basically, this led to the idea of Event Butler. I wanted to create a tool that could do for others what my system did for me. Meaningful connections without the anxiety. Building this tool has been deeply personal. Every feature addresses a pain point I experienced firsthand. The irony isn't lost on me. The introvert who once hid from networking now helps others connect at events. But that's precisely why it works.

Unpopular opinion: Most networking events are a waste of time. The most meaningful connections will not emerge from events but from the impact of what we create. I know this is not the traditional approach to professional relationship-building. This is a fresh alternative for forward-thinking entrepreneurs and event professionals. I was taught, that attending as many networking events as possible and exchanging business cards would build my network. The hell it will. These were superficial, surface-level connections with everyone in the room. With a few exceptions, the time and energy invested in these activities were wasted. And nothing makes me more sad, than time wasted. So I made a decision a year ago. Instead of spending countless hours schmoozing at events hoping to find the right connections, I dedicated that time to building something remarkable. This isn't to suggest that all networking events lack value. I suggest, that when you do attend events, do so with intention and purpose. Seek out gatherings where substantive conversations happen. Build relationships that truly contribute to your professional growth and business development. This requires a shift. The shift from traditional networking to building a value network. A fundamental rethinking of professional relationship development. Instead of casting a wide net hoping to catch useful connections, focus on creating something worth connecting to. This approach not only saves time but results in more meaningful relations. You know, the ones grounded in mutual respect and appreciation for actual accomplishments. So, the next time your calendar fills with networking invitations, pause and consider. Would your time be better spent building something remarkable?

People think the #1 thing about networking is knowing the 'right people.' They're wrong. It's not who you know, but how you connect. Genuine relationships, diverse perspectives, and mutual value drive success, not just proximity to power. Too often, people focus on collecting contacts, like that is the key to success. But we know that meaningful relationships are what truly drive opportunities and growth. The strongest professional connections are built on authenticity, trust, and mutual value. It’s not enough to exchange business cards or LinkedIn invites. You need to show genuine interest in others, actively listen, and find ways to offer value before expecting anything in return. Engaging with people from different backgrounds and industries broadens your perspective, and opens doors to unexpected opportunities. It’s through these varied connections that innovation thrives. So, please stop chasing titles or trying to impress the 'right' people. Instead, focus on building a network rooted in sincerity and shared growth. Networking isn’t a numbers game, play it authentically, the rewards are far greater than just a list of contacts. It's not a problem if you are not good at that. You will get better in time, just keep practicing.

Making event networking actually work I Transforming random encounters into hot leads -> 94% Meeting Show-Up Rate I 30% Increase in Meaningful Connections I Reduced Cost Per Lead from $112 to $58

Data privacy is a headache keeping event organizers up at night ?? Event tech has exploded - but so have the risks. ?? GDPR fines up to €20M or 4% of revenue ?? Complex consent management across multiple platforms ?? Responsibility for thousands of attendees' personal data ?? Security vulnerabilities from untested event apps ?? Growing attendee resistance to data collection Most organizers don't realize that every new event app you require is another potential data breach waiting to happen. Each platform adds another layer of privacy policies to manage, another security audit to conduct, and another point of liability for your organization. The real cost isn't just financial. It's lost trust from attendees, reduced exhibitor confidence, damaged brand reputation, endless compliance documentation, hours spent on privacy management instead of event experience. This is why we use WhatsApp for networking: ?? Enterprise-grade encryption ?? Meta's $billions invested in security ?? Existing privacy compliance ?? User-controlled data sharing ?? No additional privacy policies needed ?? People already use it on a daily basis Think about it. When was the last time you heard about a major WhatsApp data breach? Meanwhile, we've seen countless event platforms compromised. Smart organizers are realizing. The best privacy policy is the one you don't have to write, and the best data protection is letting users keep control of their own data. What's your take on balancing data collection with privacy at events? #EventTech #DataPrivacy #GDPR #EventPlanning #TechRisk

Here's what I see for events in 2025 ?? The event industry isn't just evolving - it's transforming at its core. After analyzing trends and speaking with dozenss of event professionals, here's what's becoming clear: ?? Event planners are shifting from logistics to experience architects. AI is handling the complexities, freeing up creative minds to design truly memorable moments. ??Events are becoming fully trackable revenue engines. The gap between event investment and ROI measurement is finally closing. ??The rise of the strategic solopreneur. Event professionals are choosing flexibility and impact over traditional roles, powered by AI and automation. ??The eventtech/martech wall is crumbling. Large tech players are entering the space, forcing vertical solutions to either innovate or integrate. ??Events are becoming predictable business drivers. AI is uncovering patterns in revenue and impact, making complex event programs accessible to brands of all sizes. ( ?? Hello SMEs) But here's what excites me most. AI isn't just handling logistics. It's revolutionizing how we make meaningful connections at events. Imagine walking into a trade show where every conversation is relevant, every meeting is purposeful, and every connection has clear business value. Speaking of which... we're putting final touches on our Event Butler MVP that makes all of this accessible without the complexity. No new apps, no learning curves - just simplified, AI-powered connections through the messaging apps you already use. Can't wait to share more soon. Picture two trade show organizers. Org A: Frantically pushing their shiny new event app, begging people to "just download it real quick!" while watching adoption rates hover at 34%. Spends weeks configuring features nobody uses. Loses sleep over notification settings. Organizer B: "Just text our AI assistant on WhatsApp - you know, the app you already use 50 times a day." Which one would you rather be? Here's why we are revolutionizing event networking by using WhatsApp: First, let's talk about friction - or rather, the complete lack of it. There's no new app to download (because "it only takes 30 seconds" is 30 seconds too many). No new login credentials to remember. No "quick tutorial" to sit through. And absolutely no notifications to enable. It just works. The instant connection factor is a game-changer. Messages appear where people actually look dozens of times per day. When matches happen, conversations start naturally and immediately. Group chats feel normal, not forced. And when someone needs help, they know exactly how to get it - just send a message. The interface? You know it! Our AI assistant feels like chatting with a helpful concierge, not wrestling with another tech platform. Sharing documents, links, and media happens effortlessly. When typing feels too slow, voice messages keep the conversation flowing. Everything your attendees need lives right where they're already comfortable. Floor maps appear with a simple message. Session reminders actually get seen because they pop up alongside messages from family and friends. Real-time updates land exactly where people are already looking. And networking feels natural because, well, it is. For organizers, the benefits are crystal clear. You can skip the $20,000+ custom app development. Your engagement metrics will actually reflect real engagement. Post-event data arrives structured and actionable. And most importantly? Happy attendees mean a happy life. The truth is, the best technology doesn't force users to change their behavior - it meets them exactly where they are. But hey, if you enjoy watching your app adoption rates compete with your blood pressure... ??♂? What's your take? Have you tried using existing messaging apps for events instead of building new ones? Do you want to? #EventTech #Innovation #UserExperience #TradeShows

Making event networking actually work I Transforming random encounters into hot leads -> 94% Meeting Show-Up Rate I 30% Increase in Meaningful Connections I Reduced Cost Per Lead from $112 to $58

Let's have an honest conversation about trade show economics. The numbers tell a concerning story: ?? $50,000+ for a standard exhibition space ?? 34% attendee satisfaction rate ?? 38% follow-up website visits If you have spent years in this industry, you understand the immense value of face-to-face connections. But we need to ask ourselves: Are we building a sustainable model for the next generation of business relationships? The hard truth is that both exhibitors and attendees are investing significant resources - time, money, travel - for a remarkably low satisfaction rate. This isn't just about ROI (though that matters). It's about creating genuine value and meaningful connections in a world where every marketing dollar needs to work harder. Consider what $50k could mean to: 1)A startup trying to break into their market 2) A mid-size company expanding its reach 3) An enterprise testing new innovations We're essentially asking businesses to bet big on a model that's showing clear signs of inefficiency. But here's the exciting part: We don't need to throw out trade shows. We need to reimagine them. Imagine if we: ?? Used technology to pre-qualify connections. ?? Focused on quality of interactions over booth size. ?? Created more targeted, industry-specific gatherings. ?? Measured success by actual business outcomes The next generation of business leaders deserves better than "that's how it's always been done." They deserve events that reflect how modern business relationships are built - through targeted, meaningful connections that drive real value. This isn't about pointing fingers. It's about acknowledging that our industry needs to evolve. The future of trade shows should be about facilitating genuine connections, not just selling floor space. What do you think? How can we make trade shows more valuable for everyone involved? #EventIndustry #BusinessInnovation #FutureOfEvents #TradeShows
