A new study co-authored by Synbiotic Health Co-Founder Dr. Jens Walter was published online last week in the journal Cell.?While the primary focus of the study was to investigate the effect of a non-industrialized diet on microbiome diversity and persistence of supplementary L. reuteri, the diet also beneficially enriched the overall presence of Bifidobacterium, including several key species such as B. adolescentis. More specifically, the increase in Bifidobacteria was correlated with higher levels of certain microbiota-derived plasma metabolites, such as indole-3-propionic acid. This metabolite is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and potential to support metabolic health. These new findings align with recent in vivo results obtained by Synbiotic Health using a C. elegans model, where it was observed that nematodes consuming B. adolescentis iVS-1? significantly extended lifespan under chronic metabolic stress conditions. More research is needed to determine the mechanism(s) of action of the positive effect of B. adolescentis on metabolic health as well as its effect on longevity, but these new findings support the important role that this species may play in promoting overall human health and wellbeing. https://lnkd.in/ekZxhcWK

Bifidobacterium support a healthy immune system, produce vitamins, help with mood and sleep, promote bone health, and reduce disease risk. Unfortunately, Bifidobacterium levels decrease when our diet is less than perfect, as well as when we get older. ? Bifidobacterium adolescentis iVS-1? boosts levels of bifidobacteria and promotes healthy aging. Let us share the scientifically supported benefits of iVS-1? with your product development team.
