Brian Murdock comes to Synapse after nearly 10 years with AIG Environmental and over 25 years working with environmental insurance. Brian served as an underwriter and later as the Southeast Regional Manager for National Accounts. These roles gave him a breadth of experience and technical expertise from complicated Fortune 500 companies to middle market account site and contractor risks. As a result, he has underwritten businesses as varied as Alaskan refineries, chemical facilities on the Hudson River, a desalination plant in Florida and contractors and construction projects throughout the US. His expertise spans industries including manufacturing, construction, distribution, hospitality, real estate, and energy. As a National Account Regional Manager and then Managing Director at AIG, Brian gained valuable experience in building relationships with brokers and companies of all sizes. These roles caused him to gain understanding of Casualty, Financial Lines and Property coverages and to comprehend how environmental policies interacted with these lines of business. Brian continues to be very active in RIMS. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta chapter. He has also spoken publicly on Environmental topics and the Internet of Things to groups of risk managers, attorneys, brokers, and insurance carriers.
