This week SRS presented the vision for Florida Atlantic University's Kurt & Marilyn Wallach Center for Holocaust and Jewish Studies building to donors and benefactors whose passionate commitment to education and understanding has brought this project to life. Through the remarkable support of Kurt and Marilyn Wallach and numerous other donors, FAU is poised to grow its national reputation in Holocaust and human rights education. We’re excited to announce that our Art Deco Cultural District (ADCD) Vision Plan has won the AIA Miami 2024 Merit Award of Excellence in Urban Design! ?? This award is a testament to our innovative approach in reimagining one of the City of Miami Beach’s most iconic areas. Our plan envisions a pedestrian-friendly, transit-oriented district with expanded parks, landscaped streetscapes, and improved public transportation. Key features include a reimagined Lummus Park, vibrant pedestrian spaces and enhanced multi-modal transit options along Washington and Collins resulting in a newly revitalized cultural district.
