Some of our team members got to visit the IECA conference in Richmond Virginia. Adam Lyman got to pass on the tie that binds, and present at one of the education sessions. The Exhibit Hall was great, we made a lot of new friends, and got to see the beautiful Richmond Virginia. We definitely returned with a lot of new ideas. Thanks to the International Erosion Control Association #IECA (https://ieca.org/) for putting on such a quality conference year after year. On Christmas Eve, Santa took flight, But spotted something not quite right. The hills below were bare and steep, The soil was sliding—way too deep! “Ho, ho, ho!” Santa cried, “This won’t do! I need a SWPPP to pull us through!” He landed his sleigh with a jolly grin, Ready to draft a plan to win. With wattle rolls, he built a wall, To trap the dirt before it could fall. He lined the slopes with silt fence tight, To keep the streams clear through the night. Santa’s elves, with pencils in hand, Wrote the SWPPP to save the land. They mapped the slopes and drainage flow, Making sure the streams stayed slow. Hydroseeding came next, a misty green spray, To blanket the ground in a lush array. Santa checked the specs, nodded with pride, Knowing erosion had no place to hide. With his work complete, he flew off fast, The land below safe from the blast.
